What a preciously minimalistic body of work, especially disks under antwerp, actually so beautiful, ny occasion, blown on a rooftop, silver & ice, track 19 of the raw cut. All absolutley amazing. Bumping the raw cut start to finish with no skips makes it feel like what it is, a beat tape with some low tone vocals & spoken word.
Destiny & altar call stick out like sore thumbs at this hour. I had to make the bed to lie in, no future to rely in. The triad is a timeless reflection yes, but also immortal flame in particular feels like a personal hell for the listener to rot in

Just copped the CD from a fellow head in the sub, on my first listen through rn. feels like a Dr. Grabba 3 in a manner. This motif of MIKE’s is easily my favorite adjacent to BLP 2020 King Of The Night. Zobo gives heavy IFE radio vibes as well. Overall just a dope fucking mixtape.
I just started renting a trumpet after getting an alto sax a couple months ago, would love to learn this beautiful piece. I’ll just try to do it by ear if this don’t work.
All I can say is… holy shit. What a mix. Some highlights for me personally were the recurring themes of distant, frugal horn playing with adjacent warped noise tracks, especially the way he transitioned into what seemed to be a second version of khalida around the 27:30 mark from noise tracks similar to “at the mace” immediatley followed by khalida with an extended outro, which led into another unreleased aasr track that transitioned into folk nation, but for all of those songs there were many added layers to the background, as well as many amazing unheard aasr tracks so that’s really what made it be a seperate, and equally unique thing.
