Title says it all. COD 1-3 and World at War.
After two days I have beaten Call of Duty: World at War on VETERAN Difficulty.
Most people would ask why would I put myself through such pain. I would answer: “A cruel curiosity of war”. I understood this was the hardest campaign in COD history. I also understood the pain and suffering of war (especially this one) is beyond the comprehension of those that have never fought in one, myself included. But I still wanted to know, without signing up for the army or forming a war fascist party (too complicated).
So when the grenade spam and the near instant kills went over and over for more than 300+ deaths; I realized it was a magnificent representation of war. War is unfair, brutal, and at times unkind.
To those who have served your country in such time of war and hardship, it may not mean a thing to you, but you have my respect.
And now I wish to discuss with you fans of Call of Duty:
1: Why did you play COD World at War on Veteran?
2: How many days and deaths did it take you to beat it?
3: What drove you on?
4: If you were unable to beat it, what level stumped you?
Is the number wrong or am I glitched?
Update:
I give up. All my achievements are now bugged. As I just defeated Ruby Weapon with Knights of the Round Materia and have neither achievement. I give up. I’ll quickly beat the main story and have zero proof besides my word of honor that I beat it.
SECOND UPDATE:
I THINK I MIGHT HAVE FIXED IT! By redownloading the game! Hopefully this works. I’m gonna grind the AP for Knights of the Round Materia and beat Ruby Weapon again and see if it works!

Hey guys. I’ve beaten the campaign several times over the years and this time I intend to do it in Veteran difficulty… I want your guy/gal’s honest opinion of what kind of hellish war I may be willingly walking into. Any tips would also be appreciated.
I was so excited to play the game. I didn’t understand at first that it’s basically an Arkham game where the LEGO unlockables are just character cosmetics. I understood when the Mayhem Collection was announced. Telling me I WOULD be able to play as two of my favorite Batman villains SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER release.
So I immediately decided that I should wait until my full content was available for play. Because it would suck to 100% the game and discover I paid for like three DLC missions and characters I can do nothing in the free-roaming section with because I 100%ed it.
Did anyone decide to do this? I gotta admit it was and is painful, but I want to play with all content at once, am I being stupid?
(The Yellow areas are the Vice Kings).
I understand the time before the Saints feels like a ripe story that needs telling, but given what we already know, would you really be interested in a game that you only conquer 1/3rd of a city and then drop your flags and create the Saints?
I suggest a better idea, why not have a new game that lets you experience the rise of each gang in the series? Starting with the “Los Carnales” (shit sorry Dex… wait scratch that f-u Dex). And Ending with Vice Kings. Maybe even have the Sons of Samedi, Ronin, the Brotherhood and even The Morningstar get a chapter. Follow the biggest gangs of their generation going backwards until the Vice Kings and finish with Julius Little in the church.
