Education Loan for Germany Blocked Account -SBI Said It's Not Possible?
This question is for people who went to Germany using an education loan for the blocked account.
I recently visited my local SBI branch to inquire about the education loan process for funding the blocked account. The assistant manager didn't seem to know much about blocked accounts and told me that education loan amounts can only be disbursed directly to the university. I tried explaining that the blocked account is meant for visa approval and living expenses, not for university fees, but he said that it cannot be covered under an education loan and that I would need to take a personal loan instead.
Later, I spoke with the chief manager, and they mentioned that only tuition fees, living expenses, and related expenses are covered under an education loan. So now I'm confused about how people actually used education loans for their blocked accounts.
For those who took an education loan and moved to Germany:
- Which bank/NBFC did you choose?
- What was the process?
- How was the money transferred to the blocked account?
Would really appreciate any guidance or personal experiences.
