Goverment is going to introduce isobutanol in diesel , Did some research and came to know about issues in older diesel vehicles Bs4

Three Big Issues Which I found are these

1.Elastomer/Rubber Degradation: Pre-2020 fuel systems were not designed for prolonged alcohol exposure. Over time, even mild alcohol blends can accelerate the hardening, cracking, and sweating of older rubber fuel lines, O-rings, and injector seals.

  1. Loss of Lubricity: Alcohol lacks the natural lubricating properties of pure fossil diesel. Older high-pressure common-rail (CRDi) systems rely heavily on that fuel lubricity to keep the fuel injection pump and injector needles from experiencing premature friction wear.

  2. Cetane Drop & Engine Knock: Isobutanol has a lower cetane rating than standard diesel, which creates a slight ignition delay. In older engines, this can manifest as a rougher idle, mild engine knocking (diesel knock), and a slight drop in low-end torque. The Bottom Line: While the government states that low-level blends won't cause immediate engine failure, owners of older diesels will bear the brunt of accelerated component wear and a 2% to 5% drop in mileage. If you plan to keep an older diesel running long-term, you will likely need to rely on aftermarket lubricity/cetane additives to protect your fuel pump.

Cost Will Be The Same For Diesel but people will face issues, those who all are rich can easily buy EVs but those who don't will suffer, it's like planned obsolence by the government

Beware of the Flipkart Voltas AC "5-Year Warranty" Trap: Hidden AMCs, Bot Loops, and Installation Scams

  1. The "Free" Warranty is Not Free (And They Hide the Rules)

The Flipkart product page clearly advertises a 5-year comprehensive warranty on the PCB and coils. I took a screenshot of the exact terms on the app, and it never mentions any servicing requirements.

However, the reality is entirely different. To keep this warranty active from year 2 to year 5, the brand mandates that you pay for two preventive maintenance services every single year. It is essentially forced AMC masquerading as a free warranty, and the e-commerce platform conveniently leaves this out of the product description!

  1. The Brand Will Contradict the Platform

I got suspicious and called Voltas Official Customer Support. They checked my unit and blatantly told me it ONLY comes with a 1-year standard warranty and 10 years on the compressor, contradicting Flipkart’s page entirely.

  1. The Flipkart Cancellation Trap

Because of the false advertising, I tried to cancel my order.

The Flipkart app tried to block the cancellation and hinted at cancellation charges (which is entirely illegal under the Consumer Protection E-Commerce Rules, 2020, when a product description is misleading).

When I reached out to chat support, they purposely logged my "Cancellation" as a "Return." Because the AC hadn't been delivered yet, the seller’s automated system immediately rejected the "return," leaving me stuck in a loop.

  1. The Customer Support Blackhole

To make matters worse, you cannot even explain this false advertising to a human. Flipkart has completely walled off real customer service. Direct customer care numbers no longer work or just tell you to use the app. When you use the in-app chat, you are trapped in a loop with a bot that refuses to understand the nuance of a false warranty claim. Even in the middle of the afternoon, it is nearly impossible to bypass the bot to fix their "Return vs. Cancellation" system glitch.

  1. The Installation Extortion (Manmani)

When you book the installation through voltas support, customer care will only mention the "Standard Installation" charge. They conveniently leave out the pricing for accessories ( outdoor stand, and others) so the third-party technicians can do their manmani (arbitrary charging) when they arrive. Technicians will often try to overcharge you by thousands for flimsy outdoor stands and pretend copper piping is more expensive than it is.

How to protect yourself:

If you ever find yourself caught in this, do not panic and do not accept the delivery. The ultimate consumer veto is the physical OTP. When the delivery driver arrives, simply refuse the package and DO NOT share the OTP. The system is forced to mark it as an RTO (Return to Origin), and your refund/EMI closure will process automatically without fees.

I ended up taking the AC anyway because I bought it for my parents, and unfortunately, almost every major brand pulls this exact same hidden AMC stunt. But buyers need to be aware that these extended warranties are just marketing gimmicks to lock you into paid service contracts.
