Sports fan are way more awful than Kpop fans

I think Kpop fans/the fandom is very annoying and problematic. I don't like the kpop fandom at all. But I've seen the argument floating around recently that kpop fans are legitimately the worst fandom of all time after they made that woman commit suicide. Sports fans are far worse but being a sports fan is just more normalized. And kpop fans are more demonized.

Sports fans constantly assault each other and destroy property and cities and riot even when they win a match. It's basically a given at this point. The violence from sports fans caused people to die in many events like the Heysel Stadium disaster. There's an increase of domestic violence from sports fans whenever sports happens.

Just this year alone, over 60 arrests were made because of sports fans fighting each other because of the Nicks and Spurs games. A 17 year old was beaten into a coma. Multiple people were stabbed and shot. If this happened in kpop, it would be 10x times more hated.

I don't fucking like these kpop fans either. But if you think objectively, sports fans are far more awful. They just get away with it because sports are seen as more normal. And kpop receives more hate because of negative biases.

Kpop fans are very racist towards Koreans

Every time a Korean celebrity makes the news for doing something wrong, you always see people on social media saying: "OMG Korean celebrities are so evil! They are so problematic and sexist/racist/etc etc etc. Koreans are so evil!11!! (Insert stereotype here)"

I've seen this a million times even on this sub when fans of kpop are talking about Korean celebs/Koreans in general. Despite liking Korean content, a lot of those fans are genuinely racist towards Koreans. People with kpop avatars hoping Korea goes extinct, saying insanely racist shit to Koreans. News flash, every single country has problematic celebrities.

Brad Pitt beat Angelina but is still famous and respected and working in the business. Playboi Carti choked his pregnant girlfriend but is still well connected in the industry with countless collabs. Ronaldo has rape allegations but is still worshipped as a hero. Dr Dre beat his girlfriend and dated a minor but is still well respected. Justin Bieber said the N word with the hard R but people still like him. I could post so MANY more examples but that would be too long.

No one generalizes Westerners when they have another scandal. When Koreans mess up, all of them are generalized if they aren't acting like perfect robots with zero scandals. Korean content fans are the first to chastise racism in Korea and then act racist towards Koreans.

I hate how racism towards Koreans is acceptable

People watch one Youtube video and genuinely think they're an expert on Korea. Other countries flaws are hidden but Korea's is open because of Koreaboos obsessed with Korean society spreading the news. It might be one of the most misunderstood countries in the world.

"OMG 4B IS CAUSING THE LOW BIRTHRATE" The 4B movement is considered to be fringe in South Korea,^([13])^([28]) with Ju Hui Judy Han of UCLA arguing that "the vast majority of South Korean feminists do not abide by it," and that "4B is not representative of Korean feminist politics." People genuinely think a huge number of women in Korea are doing 4B. As of 2026, Korea's birthrate is increasing slowly. Thailand and Taiwan has had a lower birthrate than Korea for about a year now. But no one gives af or knows because making a Korea video brings more ragebait views than making a Thailand or Taiwan video.

"OMG KOREA THE MOST SEXIST AND EVIL MEN ON THE PLANET" Yes, Korea can be very sexist and needs drastic improvement. No, it's not the most sexist country. I've genuinely seen people say that Korea is more sexist than the Middle East. I've seen Hasan and Vaush unironically say all Korean men want to enslave and kill Korean women. The same way conservatives talk about Muslims.

"OMG KOREAN INCELS." Yes, Korean incels are stupid af. No, the majority of Korean men are not seething at 🤏 like all of social media is convinced they are. During Gamer Gate 2018, 4chan incels were literally sending women they deemed feminists with violence and sexual assault threats. American incels also on many occasions shot multiple women before. No one says anything about American incels or demonizes them. Other countries like China has incels who also try to cancel women like Chinese incels did to comedian Yang Li. No one cares because all of Korea's problems are open to the public.

"OMG NTH ROOM" Korea's not the only country with an Nth room despite many comments acting like it's a Korea exclusive thing. There's Nth room variants in every country it just doesn't go viral. There's a similar website in France called coco which had 500,000 visits per month at some point. More than 23,000 reports of criminal activity of homophobia, sexually assaulting of minors, etc. 480 victims have been involved in judicial proceedings involving the site. It was was involved in the Pelicot scandal where a woman named Gisele Pelicot was mass sexually assaulted by her husband and 50 men over 9 years. It was recorded and posted to the site. There's a Chinese variant called MaskPark with over 100,000 men sharing hidden camera videos. Other variants had over 900,000 members. There's another one exposed by German police that had over 70,000 members. There's a Thai variant with over 100,000 men exposed. None of them went viral because it doesn't go viral like it does if it was Korean.

"OMG KOREA IS THE MOST RACIST SOCIETY ON THIS PLANET" Yes, Korea is still quite racist and needs to improve. There are countries which are far more racially violent that don't even get the same amount of backlash. The amount of abhorrent racism and hate crimes towards Indians from Canadians for example is insane. And no one cares because Canada has better PR and are stereotyped as nice. Check how Europeans treat the Romani. And Korea isn't the only country who bans certain ethnicities from establishments. Japan, China, and Thailand has done that many times before. "OMG BUT KNETZ racist." Yes many of them are. But are you new to Twitter? I've seen people of all races be racist. I've seen multiple threads where all races are converging to shit on Indians but no one calls those countries racist.

The craziest thing is that no one pushes back against it. Racism against other races at least receives push back. But no one is pushing back against racism towards Koreans. It's okay to portray Koreans as the most evil, racist, sexist creatures. So much so that liberals go mask off against Korea. I've seen people with kpop avatars unironically saying Korean should go extinct. It's orientalism but on steroids.
