Going in for a TESA

Going in for a TESA in a couple of hours after finding out there was no sperm in my SA.

All my hormone and genetic tests were normal and urologist predicts 90% chance that I am producing.

Nervous has hell though. No idea how I am going to handle telling my wife who will be in the waiting room if the results are bad.

Doing an FNA too if it’s bad.

Help on next steps

Hey everyone - my wife and I were proactively looking into IVF and my sperm sample came by with 0 sperm found. This was pretty unexpected as I am sure it was for many of you. We are based in the US

We have done a set of tests to and consultations with the following findings:

  • Hormone levels (FSH, LH, E2, Karyotype, etc.) are all normal. I am waiting on a Y-microdeletion analysis to come back
  • Testes size are in normal range
  • No varicocele or obstruction identified in the ultra sound or during palpations by the urologist
  • I had a large blood clot that appeared on my scrotum two years back. It was right down the middle and everyone at the emergency room said it was very rare. Urologist told us then to wait till it went away, which it did. Current urologist don't it is related

We met with the leading urologist in our city and have a consult with another one later this week. The urologist recommendation was to do fine-need-aspiration (FNA) next as that would be the highest confidence way to determine is I was or not producing sperm. We are working on getting insurance approval for it.

Based on the above, what additional things would you all suggest looking into? Or asking the urologists we are seeing this week.

As you can imagine, this has thrown us for a loop. Wife has become incredibly sad and depressed and I am trying to manage my emotions and her (we have started seeing a therapist). I have fingers crossed but also need to prep for the bad news.

Thanks!

Thoughts on living in this area of Eastgate / cougar hill?

Hi all - we are looking at a house in the Eastgate area and wanted to learn about the area a bit more. Moving from Queen Anne so very much a city life for the last few years.

  1. How bad do the winters get here relative to other area of Bellevue or Seattle? We are hearing the hills tend to get a bit tougher weather but that also feels weird given proximity to city areas?
  2. We noticed how it can get pretty dark in the evening with all the trees? Do you notice that, especially when the day light hours are short in the fall and winter months? Is it a bit scary to drive or walk around when it's dark int he winters?
  3. We will be driving to Seattle and Redmond for work. Anything noteworthy traffic wise, we have read the online reports and it actually seems like a convenient spot?
  4. Do you see a lot of wildlife (deers, bears, coyotes)?
  5. What do you really like or really don't like about this area?

Working with large national firms

Hi - I am considering moving from the smaller law firm we have been working with on our complicated I-130 case to a large national firm like GrossmanYoung and WR. What are people's experiences with those firms? They seem so much more resourced than even the big local firms e.g., can submit a writ mandamus in 10 days. and have more government relationships. They will be more pricy too 😄
