How do you cope with a work environment where team engagement is low and leadership almost stays silent about it? Any tips so to avoid falling into mediocrity?

It always strikes me how some people make it to the top management or keep getting promoted without bringing much to the table. I see that in my current environment where the majority of the directors I work with are just doing their jobs to keep the status quo, and when I speak with the vp on my 1-1 with him he challenges me to influence and push the directors (as I need to work closely with them to cascade technology solutions to their projects) and I’m like, dude they report to you you should be the one setting the tone. And a year later he promotes one of them to a higher position. You may say I’m not seeing everything they are doing, that’s fair, but I’m sure I know 70% of their work since I deal regularly with them.

How do you manage this frustrating situation?

Accountability buddy / Mentor

I'm 37M living in North America (originally from a different country), I think having an accountability partner or sort of mentor, for personal and professional growth is a great idea.

I'm at a point where I want to be more intentional about the areas of my life I care about most

What I'm working on:

- Career growth and professional development

- Learning new skills and improving my foreign languages

- Staying active

- Reading more and learning continuously

- Try to cut distractions, social media consumption

- Regulate my sleep schedule

I suggest regular check-ins could be daily, every couple of days, whatever works for both of us. i do have a demanding work life, so being flexible with each other is necessary (i'm not a ghoster though) and also showing interest, good vibes and energy.

Let's catch up.

Job market in Morocco

i was reading about job market around the world and where unemployment rate is high and was shocked to learn that Morocco sits in the 7th position, behind Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt...or even Ukraine who is going through a war. is this a shocking stat to you? the youth unemployment is even more significant. questions to young qualified people who have been looking for a job for sometime now, how are you coping with this situation? are you trying different strategies to find that first job or another job if sadly you lost a job? have you taken a job outside of your education/professional background?

Genuine question, how does it feel to be an Israeli nowadays? I see a lot of videos from almost everywhere in the world where citizens show their despise and disdain towards Israelis because of what their country has been doing the last few years. A lot of historians, media influencers, famous journalists are all criticizing now the country and request to isolate it to stop their government killing madness and instability created in the region. So how do Israelis feel about it? Where do they stand?
