WAIS result was calculated wrong

A few weeks ago I did WAIS test and got a pretty low score, I was horrified and I was spiraling and really upset.

Plot twist: They scored it wrong.
everything was calculated by hand. the biggest mistake was that non of the entry questions points where given. This are 2-8 points over 9 different tests that where missing.

I am not the only client this mistake was made with. This mistake was made systematically with all test this assessor has done. So multiple people got the wrong results, I was just the one to point it out.

This results in at least 15 FSIQ points difference, maybe more. I didn’t receive GAI because they don’t know how to that or what it is. I asked if they could just give me a report from the Pearson Q-Global system but they don’t have this system.

WAIS test results where scored wrong

A few weeks ago I posted here saying I was horrified by my low WAIS results. (I was downvoted quite a bit) I was spiraling and really upset.

Plot twist: They scored it wrong.

So the thing that went wrong: everything was calculated by hand. the biggest mistake was that non of the entry questions points where given. This are 2-8 points over 9 different tests that where missing.

I am not the only client this mistake was made with. because the assessor wasn’t aware of the correct scoring procedure. I had to tell her and was initially rejected. I kept pushing to double check and it got confirmed. This mistake was made systematically with all test this assessor has done. So multiple people got the wrong results, I was just the one to point it out.

This results in at least 15 FSIQ points difference, maybe more. I didn’t receive GAI because they don’t know how to that or what it is. I asked if they could just give me a report from the Pearson Q-Global system but they don’t have this (supposedly).

Moral of the story: trust your own reasoning, if you think results don’t match your profile, keep pushing because ‘professionals’ are not always right.

Horrified by low WAIS score

I am late diagnosed ASD and really struggled to get diagnosed because I always ‘functioned’ to well.

I find that my disability profile fits best with 2e ASD profile and this community is the only one I really relate to online.

However I never qualified as officially gifted. I did the CORE test online and scored between 120 and 130 for the reasoning tests with some subtests 140+.

So I did an official WAIS test and I am horrified. my FSIQ on WAIS was 93. I know the number doesn’t say everything and it was heavily dragged by WM and speed. But i feel terrible about the score, i thought I had pretty good self reflection and reasoning. I hoped to show that i have good reasoning and just struggle with expressing it.

Now I just feel dumb and doubt myself and my self reflection.

My WAIS score didn’t even show big enough gaps to show spiky profile an the rapport says basically just average in appearance and tests and fairly slow and bad memory. I don’t even feel like I am allowed in the this community anymore.

25 points difference in subtests within one domain

I hoped the CORE test would give some clarity however I am very confused now. Obvious my WMI & PSI are low. (I am also in burnout atm so hopefully it can get better in the future)

even within domains I scored 25 points difference. Both FRI and VSI had a 140 score on the highest subtest and 115 for the lowest within the domain. In over all highest and lowest sub domain had a 55 point difference.

FSIQ 112
GAI 122

I will do an official WAIS Test as well but am quite nervous about it. I struggle with the timer running out, spoken instructions (APD) and dyslexia.

Other people here had similar large differences between subtest? And how did that reflect on the WAIS compared to CORE?

Anyone like me out there?

I am late diagnosed last year at 32yo, I wonder if there is anyone out there that has similar combination of traits as me.

- Dyslexia: obvious as a kid but was never tested
- Prosopagnosia (face blindness): I very often just don’t recognize people I should
- APD (auditory processing disorder): difficulty conversing in bars or with music and cross conversations
- Alexithymia & low Interoception: I just don’t feel internal signals well and rely on logic mostly for my responses.
- Aphantasia (no visual imagination): I think conceptual
- Dysnomnia: (difficulty retrieving words, related to dyslexia) I just often make weird sentences, switch words or can’t retrieve names or words
- SDAM: ( Severely Deficient Autobiographical Memory) unable to mentally “re-live” personal past from first-person perspective

Behavior:
- I am and feel quite positive and don’t have depression or enxiety
- some sensory sensitivities (mainly audio and light some textures with cloths) but I am also mainly sensory and novelty seeking.
- Even though I have difficulty expressing my thoughts and retrieving words. I tend to speak fast and sometimes monologue talk.
- I had selective mutism as a child 4/5 yo, but now don’t have meltdowns and hardly shutdown
- I’ve always been extremely sensitive to people’s moods, behavior and positive or negative energy
