Maribank Credit is now Mari Loan

Maribank Credit is now Mari Loan

Napansin ko lang na yung Maribank Credit is now named as Mari Loan. Most likely binago nila para di nakakalito between their loan and credit card offer.

Do something! Haha 😆

Is there an issue with UB Rewards?

Hi Reddit!

I logged in to UB app kanina to unlock my UB Rewards CC at nagulat ako na may 40k+ points na sa account ko. I know na may 500+ points lang ako from my purchases in the past and they gave me 20k points as welcome gift last week pero ngayon, may 20k points na nadagdag ulit.

Glitch lang kaya yun or credited by mistake or paconsuelo nila dahil nagreklamo ako sa BSP against them?

For context, I filed a complaint against UB sa BSP kase they offered Just For You para mag-apply for UB Rewards CC. Ang nakalagay dun is NAFFL after 1st spend tapos may welcome gift na 10k points + 2k eGC pero naka-3 months na, wala pa din NAFFL confirnation then when I contacted CS, ang sabi saken is di ko daw nameet yung 20k spend kaya di ako qualified for NAFFL. I disputed it but paulit ulit lang yung sagot ng CS.

Ayoko gamitin or iredeem kase baka glitch lang or nagkamali lang then babawiin din later. But out of curiosity lang, kung iredeem ko lahat yun ngayon tapos later on, they will say na nagkamali lang or bawiin nila yun, anong mangyayari sa rewards points? Magiging negative ba?

Thanks!

Ganito ba talaga sa Eastwest?

Hi Reddit!

I just got my 1st Eastwest credit card last April 2026. I was very happy kase ilan beses na ko nag-attempt mag-apply sa kanila for several years pero parating declined, but I got approved this year.

I just received my 2nd EW SOA nung last week of May tapos this week lang, I received an email and a viber message reminding me of my payment due date which is June 22 pa. They also mentioned on their email and viber message na may mga accredited service providers na parang collections agency na tatawag sa akin regarding this. Tapos today lang, I received multiple calls from them.

I understand that they are just trying to remind, but nakakainis lang kase they bug customers on a weekend. Kailangan din ba talagang multiple calls in 1 day just to remind? Nabayaran ko naman in full before due date yung 1st bill ko. Itong 2nd bill ko, 2.5k lang naman. I feel like masyado naman atang aggressive yung reminder nila.

Are they really like this? Kase if ganito talaga ang gawain nila, I might just cancel the card. I don't want to be bugged with reminders, especially wala naman akong history sa kanila na hindi nagbayad. I have CCs from other banks pero walang ganito.

UB Rewards Visa NAFFL issue

Hi KKB!

I feel deceived. Di na lang sana ako nag-apply. 😑

Maribank Credit Card is Coming Soon

Napanood ko sa Youtube video ni Sir Pat Quinto yung about sa coming soon na Maribank credit card that also functions as a debit card. Based on his video, mukhang nagbebeta testing sila at Maribank employees pa lang ang may access.

I was browsing the Maribank app and saw na may parang disclaimer sa baba about Maribank Credit Card. So this is another confirmation na magkakaroon na talaga ng Maribank credit/debit card dito sa Pinas.

I also searched about Mari Credit Card sa Singapore and google said na ito ang features & benefits nya

Key Features & Benefits:

Cashback: Earn (1.7%) unlimited cashback on local spend and (3%) on overseas transactions.

Fees: No annual fees and no minimum spend requirement.

Foreign Exchange: Competitive top exchange rates and transparent fees for international purchases.

Flexible Repayments: Offers quick-access instant loan installments if you need to split larger purchases into flexible monthly chunks. [1, 2, 3, 5]

Anong masasabi nyo if ganito din ang implementation satin? May other features and benefits pa ba kayo na gusto nyo makita sa upcoming na Maribank CC?

GCash Credit Card coming soon?

Just saw this article. Please correct me if I'm wrong but afaik, only banks can issue credit cards. Maybe this will be a BNPL card similar to Atome, Salmon, Luvit, etc. (???). Anyway, I'm excited for this and I hope it will push through!

What are your thoughts?

JAKARTA – GCash, the largest digital wallet platform in the Philippines, is now preparing for a major expansion into the credit card sector.

With a valuation of USD 5 billion, the joint venture between Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala’s (JAZA) Ayala Group and Jack Ma’s Alibaba Group is currently seeking a new business unit head to lead the initiative.

According to the Jack Ma Alibaba Foundation’s Facebook account on Saturday (26/4), this move marks GCash’s continued strategy to broaden its digital financial services portfolio, having already captured 89% of the e-wallet market in the Philippines through Mynt (Global Fintech Innovations), a subsidiary of Globe Telecom.

In a job listing posted on JobStreet.com, GCash is looking for an executive who will be responsible for strategy development, planning, and budgeting for the credit card unit.

The successful candidate will also serve as the lead representative in strategic partnerships with global players such as American Express (Amex), Mastercard, and Visa.

Other key responsibilities include co-developing marketing programmes with the customer team and boosting card acquisition and usage among users.

The role is expected to open new revenue opportunities and position the credit card business as a sustainable profit generator.

GCash is seeking applicants with experience in product and account management, cost-benefit analysis, and strong organisational skills. A background in project management, change management, and prior experience in the financial sector will be considered strong assets.

The move into credit cards is part of GCash’s long-term strategy, which includes preparations for an initial public offering (IPO) that is anticipated to be the largest in Philippine capital market history.

GCash has already introduced a VISA e-wallet card and is now expanding its offerings into full credit card products, as part of its ambition to cement its status as a digital financial super-app in Southeast Asia. (DK/ZH)

Visa to Mastercard Conversion

Hi Reddit!

I was approved a Privilege Visa about a month ago lang. Kaya lang I realized na gusto ko ng Platinum Mastercard in the future para NAFFL. Naisip ko lang, meron po ba dito na nakapagpaconvert from Visa to MC? I was thinking na ipaconvert from Visa to MC itong Privilege Visa ko then eventually upgrade to Platinum MC in the future.

Any thoughts po? Thanks in advance!

BPI Lock/Unlock Card Issue

Anyone else having trouble locking their BPI CC? I tried both app and website but same. Wala naman update available sa app.

u/Express_Writing9094 — 2 months ago

Hi Reddit!

I just want to share a small win today. So I downloaded my most recent Transunion credit report and I'm happy na naglevel up na kahit konti ang credit score ko. As the title says, my risk grade went from high risk to medium risk (HH to EE). I know it's slow but i'm just happy na may improvement na.

The goal is to become part of the very low risk grade (AA or BB) in the future. I just fulfilled my basic needs for several years. No yearly phone upgrade. No new laptop. No new clothes or shoes. No travel. No new car. No unnecessary gala. No daily starbucks. May konting online shopping but pag may sobra lang talaga. Sobrang dami ko din talaga natutunan and I will never ever let myself drown in debt again.

I got recently approved sa Chinabank and Eastwest (always declined before) tapos may pre-approved pa from UB.

Anyway, malayo pa ko sa AA or BB risk grade na goal but I'm happy na my progress kahit paano.

It will take time (could be years) but we will become debt free eventually. Labang lang!

Hi Reddit!

BDO recently offered me to upgrade my Shopmore to Gold Mastercard. I only use my BDO Shopmore sa grocery lang (mostly sa robinsons since sya ang pinakamalapit) and sometimes to pay our internet sa bahay tapos one time ginamit ko din to book for an international flight at additional baggage.

  1. May ceiling limit ba ang Shopmore? Halimbawa, hanggang 100k lang ang limit na pwede sa Shopmore tapos need na magupgrade ng card to get a higher CL.

  2. Dun sa mga nag-upgrade na, is it worth it?

  3. Tataas ba ang CL ko if I upgrade?

  4. I know mas mataas ang AF ng Gold, madali ba magpa-waive?

  5. Can I request for a different card kung sakali?

  6. Maapektuhan ba ko if di ko iuupgrade yung card ko?

Recently lang, they offered me additional CC na JCB Gold tapos shared limit. Kinuha ko lang kahit di ako pala-travel since free for the 1st year naman ang AF. I'm planning to cancel the JCB din before mag1 year kase ayoko macharge ng AF.

Anyway, I would appreciate your insights regarding Shopmore to Gold upgrade. Thank you!

Hi Reddit!

Did your GLoan also disappear or maybe it's just mine?

I used to have a 100k GLoan limit. I borrowed 33k last month lang and now it's gone. I still have GGives and GCredit as of now. I have some utilization sa GGives pero wala sa GCredit. I've never been late nor missed a payment ever. Inalagaan ko talaga ang GCash ko. Yung 1st payment out of 12 months na hiniram ko is next month pa naman ang due. Currently, my credit score with GCash is 706.

Could this have something to do with the current issue na inutusan na maghigpit ang mga banks sa pagpapahiram? I know GCash is not a bank but I'm just wondering if it's also affected.

1st time ko mawalan ng GLoan after years of having it.

I like it coz it's easier and faster to borrow compared to if i use credit to cash sa CC na days or weeks bago madisburse.

Or maybe it's just me who lost it? Mababalik pa kaya? 😓

Hi Reddit!

I've been seeing a lot of posts about annual fees kaya napa-check ako nung saken.

My Shopmore MC was replaced on Sep 2025 kase expired na. Lol 😆

Meron ba dito nagupgrade from Shopmore MC to Gold MC.

I checked the monthly statement from that month until now pero wala din nachacharge na AF.

Does it mean NAFFL na yung card ko? Ayoko itawag kase baka mamaya, makita nila at lagyan ng AF or monthly fee ulit. Kung may glitch man or hindi nila tinag yung account ko ng tama eh hahayaan ko na lang. Lol 😆

Meron ba ditong same din or maybe may idea why this is?
