I built Orchestro — a Spotify-inspired local music player with Tauri

Hey everyone!

I've been working on Orchestro, a desktop music player built with Tauri.

The idea was to create a Spotify-like experience, but focused on local music rather than requiring a streaming subscription.

🎵 Features

  • Spotify-inspired modern UI
  • Play and manage local music
  • Music library
  • Playlists
  • Music search
  • Music downloading
  • Import public Spotify playlists and build a local library from them
  • Lightweight desktop application using Tauri

I'm still actively developing it, so there's definitely more I'd like to improve.

GitHub: https://github.com/Kryiocifer/Orchestro

I'd really appreciate feedback, especially from people who have built Tauri applications or use local music players.

What features would you want to see in something like this?

Forza horizon 4 crashes

I downloaded the game from steamrip, it worked perfectly fine for a day. Then when I try to open it crashes on the loading screen.

I turned off wifi and played it online, now it went through loading screen but it crashes after 5 minutes of gameplay.

Specs: Ryzen 5 7520U 16GB Ram

The game works perfectly fine with no lag in low settings. There is no overheating, temps are moderate 60-70°C

Hey, not sure if this is normal or if something’s wrong with my laptop.

Basically whenever I unplug or plug in my charger while using it, or when the laptop wakes up from sleep, the CPU usage suddenly shoots up and everything starts lagging for a bit.

Like:

  • system feels super slow
  • apps stutter
  • even simple things like opening stuff takes a second

It only lasts maybe a few seconds to a minute, then it goes back to normal like nothing happened.

I checked task manager and CPU usage spikes pretty high during that time, but I’m not even running anything heavy.

Temps seem fine too, so I don’t think it’s thermal throttling.

I’m using a Ryzen 5 7520U with Radeon 650M.

Not sure if this is:

  • Windows doing something in the background
  • AMD driver/power management thing
  • or just normal behavior??

It’s kinda annoying though because it happens every time I unplug/plug or wake it up.

Has anyone else faced this or knows what might be causing it?

Any help would be appreciated 🙏
