The Timber Evo index (modeled after the Big Mac index)

We all know the pain. You watch an American YouTuber review a brand new foamie, check the price tag, and think, "Hey, that’s not bad." Then you look at your local hobby shop website outside the US, and your jaw hits the floor.

To track how badly international pilots get hit by the "geography tax," we need a universal constant. Forget Big Macs. Welcome to the Timber Evo Index (TEI).

The Timber Evo Price Check: What does it cost in your country?

Let's run a global census. Drop a comment below with your country or region, the local price converted roughly to USD so we can compare apples to apples, and your local hobby shop reality regarding whether you are paying a massive geography tax or actually getting good local support!

Hi everyone! Im starting a Youtube channel in about 2 weeks when I get my Durafly Tundra V3 Night.

Would appreciate plenty of tips and will answer all your questions. I am using the TX16S MK3 MAX and an ER6 and will explain the entire radio setup too!

Pic is of my Xfly Twin 40mm cat.

Looking for my next plane. Recommendations?

I am relatively experienced. This is my current hangar. I have had a Timber before and might just get another one. Was also looking at the Freewing 64mm f22 and the Durafly tundra V3. Nothing bigger than 4s please as 6s batteries are too much.

I have the Xfly F14 Tomcat twin 40mm. Eflite mini apprentice. XK A300 staggerwing. Unknown brand 3s/4s 70mm goshawk. FMS T28 V4. I use the RadioMaster TX16S MK3 MAX (Black)

RC Planes & FPV in 2050+: What do you think the hobby actually looks like?

Was daydreaming today and my first thought is what will a TX16S MK10 look like🤣. But just in general what will the hobby be like?

Why do people buy spektrum

I've been flying for a while, and I genuinely don't understand why Spektrum is still so popular.

Compared to radios like the RadioMaster TX16S, Boxer, Futaba, Jeti, or even some FlySky systems, Spektrum seems expensive for what you get. Other brands often offer better gimbals, more features, protocol support, customization, and value.

If you fly Spektrum, what keeps you with the ecosystem? Is it just Horizon Hobby BNF compatibility, or are there other reasons I'm missing?

I'm interested in hearing from long-time Spektrum users as well as people who switched away from it. What made you stay or leave?
