How could I the pads on my dual pivot brake closer to the rim?
Even with the lever fully depressed, they do not touch the rim.

Why do my pedals slip when I apply a lot of force repeatedly
when I’m practicing skids or biking hard, eventually the bike will make a loud popping noise and the pedals will slip. Thr pedals will continue to slip if apply too much torque for a little bit but then it goes away.
