Gifted/ADHD kid out of control

Does anyone have experience with a kid who has ADHD and also is very cognitively gifted? My 9 year old is going through something and I am feeling desperate. He was recently screened for GT at school and scored really high. The teacher told him and I think he feels like he's smarter than all of us now? He is seeing a psychiatrist, but he feels like he's completely out of control and nothing is working. He has recently: ordered $2000 of stuff on Amazon, ordered $150 on Doordash (both were able to be canceled, thankfully), figured out my husband's password and removed all parental controls from his tablet, went into the garage in the middle of yhe night and changed the settings of the car, etc. He's also not sleeping regularly--last night he slept 4 hours, the night before that was 11 hours, the night before that he didn't go to sleep until 4 in the morning. Consequences don't seem to have any impact. I feel really desperate.

9 year old boy with anxiety and ADHD and sleep

I have a 9 year old boy who is on Azstsrys and zoloft. Sleep has become a giant issue in the last 6 months or so. Tonight for example, he went to bed and fell asleep at 8, but then I caught him watching TV at 2:15 (he turned it on around 1:45). I sent him to bed and took the remote with me, but then I caught him sneaking around our room at 3:15. He will do this for 3-4 days, then sleep for like 11 hours one night and the cycle starts over. We've also previously discovered the garage lights on and the car door open. Talking to him about what he can do if he can't sleep hasn't helped. His psychiatrist hasn't had suggestions. Any thoughts? It's driving me insane.

So my husband has been working for a small company since September. When he was hired initially, they said they were bringing him on contract for a 3 month trial and then he'd be brought on full time if it was a good fit. He asked about it 3 months later and the president said oh yeah, we need to talk about that. Three months go by, he brings it up again, same thing happens.

Another month goes by, and today the president and vice president sent him a meeting request for 3 hours later. They told him in order to become full time, he needs to take work from another employee and also work 45-50 hours a week. If he does those things, maybe in another 2 or 3 months he can be full time. I feel so bad for him because it feels like such a bait and switch. They could have made expectations clear at the beginning and he probably would have looked for something else. We have 4 young kids and he isn't interested in working overtime. He works so hard and is such a great dad. He has a good reputation in the industry. It just sucks.

I guess the silver lining is it really made it clear how they operate, and it's not something that aligns with his values.
