Why do we think all our data is hacked?

Seriously. Everyone in this community thinks the second your data escapes, it's hacked and vulnerable. You realize our data is everywhere, right? I meet one guy, and he thinks "we're hacked!" Give me a break.

Is the Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) a good replacement for Shield?

I know follks still say the NVIDIA Shield is the best box out there, but I ditched it for the Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen).

When I tried it last year, audio was stuttering, but it appears like they fixed that. I tried the box again today.

All my Remux files I play through Plex are working flawlessly. Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10 all work. Literally all audio files are working, including TrueHD, DTS-HD, etc. Everything is Direct Play and zero transcoding.

What am I missing? Is there a reason why people are not jumping ship to the Xiaomi box? If I'm way off, please forgive me and politely correct me.

Tamasha Modern Indian, Raleigh NC. 20% auto-gratuity to ANY party size!

Indian food is probably my favorite dish. The spices are great, and it's relatively cheap. My husband and I eat out with our other two friends about every 4-6 weeks and we decided to try an upscale Indian restaurant in Raleigh, NC called Tamasha Modern India.

I didn't make the reservation, but I could have looked on their website to discover that they have:

  • 20% auto gratuity added to ANY party size.
  • $20 per person cancellation fee if less than 24 hours of the reservation.
  • A limit on how long you can dine with them based on your party size.
  • A whole slew of other terms and conditions you agree to before dining with them.

Like, seriously!? We NOW have to agree to terms and conditions before dining in a restaurant. What a joke! They even mention this on their website, "By making a reservation at Tamasha Modern Indian, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to our policies regarding age restrictions, cancellations, and no-shows.

Did I have a good time? Yes. Was the food good? Yes. However, that may not be the experience every single time. If we would have had bad service, we should not be forced into 20% auto-gratuity for a party size of 4 people, let alone 1 if you were dining alone. A person should be able to leave less than 20% or $0 if they felt the service was bad. I have only left $0 once in my life, because the server kept playing on her phone while we asked other servers for service.

I know everyone says it in this forum, but if they want to add on 20% automatically, then just increase the prices and have a NO TIP policy! Mention on your website and menus that "staff are compensated fairly, and this is a NO TIP restaurant." I would have felt better about the situation. Why? Because, of course when we got the bill, there was an additional tip line! I didn't pay attention to the auto 20%, and I almost left ANOTHER 20%! My friend caught me and told me it was already included. So, then I had to cross it out. Right a big fat $0. I think they do this on purpose hoping that people will make the same mistake I almost did.

I have seen this mentioned so many times about the 20% auto-gratuity in this forum, but I have never experienced it in real life until Tamasha. I am now checking every restaurant before we dine out. Yes, I did leave a review to warn others, and no, we will never return to this restaurant again.

MyVelo TV Premiere. No response = chargeback

I saw this post from 13 days ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/1tuu9f3/myvelo_tv_premiere_preorder/

I never got an email communication update from MyVelo TV. I tried reaching out to them after May came and passed. Nothing. Crickets. I even told them I was going to file a chargeback. I then noticed any mention of the product shipping in May 2026 has been scrubbed from their website.

Needless to say, I filed a chargeback with American Express. Case opened and closed pretty quick. I'm assuming maybe others have been filing chargebacks as well? Maybe this is on their radar.

You do what's best for you, but I personally feel this box will never be released and it is is a scam at this point. I filed a chargeback and got my money back.

For those of you that are going to hold out or those that can't file a chargeback because too much time has passed, I truly hope you get your box, but I'm out.

If you pre-ordered within the last 6 months, you can file a chargeback online with most banks. Otherwise just call. It maybe took me 3-5 minutes to complete with Amex.
