Should I include these ECs for QB NCM?

Robloxian (7 years):

- bought robux to contribute to and support the Roblox economy.

- donated robux on “Pls Donate” in order to help less fortunate robloxians.

- gave other gamers someone to play with in order to keep them playing the games, maintaining total player count of Roblox.

McDonald’s Customer (16 years):

- Bought McDonalds on several occasions in order to give back to the economy

- Bought food in order to decrease the amount of food waste in the community.

Student (10 years):

- Attended school to learn new things and interact with peers.

- Got good grades in order to increase and maintain school rating.

Are these good ECs? These are the only ones I have 😔

Looking for a Co-Writer or to be a Co-Writer

Hi everyone,

I currently writing a 3D animated series set a video-game like dystopian world about a group of players who sign up to compete in live, broadcasted games in order win a grand prize of a hundred million E-Coins (the digital currency that I couldn’t come up with a better name for). Over the course of four weeks, these players will form groups and play several games hosted by the government on a luxurious resort with players who successfully complete these games climbing up in rank and those who fail at them dropping in rank until Friday, which is when lowest ranked players will be eliminated and sent back home.

This show is intended to be serialized, with it being character-driven in the first half, focusing on the relationships between the characters and their internal struggles, and more plot-driven the second half, focusing on the dystopian nature of the world around them.

Currently, I have a story bible that’s halfway complete (meaning that the main characters are done, some of the side characters are done, the setting[s] are done, the major plot points have been laid out, but there‘s still some work to do) and 10 pages out of 45ish(?) pages of the pilot done.

However, since I’m still a teenager and I’m new to screenwriting (I’ve only written short stories and books, unpublished though), there are many things I struggle with since this is project is larger than I’m used to. So I was hoping to find someone to write with, ideally around my age (15-17), who also hopes to work on an indie pilot to help brainstorm potential, smaller story lines; revise the larger plot points already in place, and refine the entire picture of this project. This is currently not paid, but you will receive credit.

But despite already working on a project of my own, I was also wondering if anyone else needed, or wouldn’t mind, having another writer on their team as I’d like to get more experience in screenwriting. I’d very much appreciate this.

So, uh, yeah, that’s all I have to say.

So, if you’re interested in joining me or having me join you, just say so in the comments.

Have a nice day everyone and thank you for your time.

Not sure if this is the best place to post, but what can I do to be productive this summer?

I only got into 2 online programs that barely take time out of my day and my parents will barely let me go outside otherwise.

(Before anyone says work on essays, SAT Prep, etc, I know but I don’t want to do that all day 😭)

Interested in STEM and hope for an interenship next summer? Try Tech Flex Leaders! (I swear I’m not sponsored, I don’t know why I sound like I am 😭)

The Tech Flex Leaders (TFL) Program is an immersive, out-of-school time program for juniors and seniors enrolled in high schools in New York City, Los Angeles, or Miami. The program is designed for students interested in technology and now includes a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) to reflect the evolving tech landscape.

Through TFL, students will engage in:

  • Weekly technical training sessions taught by industry experts, now including introductory AI concepts and tools to build foundational skills in emerging tech.
  • Professional development workshops that explore identity, leadership, and how to navigate tech careers with confidence.
  • *Career days and mentorship opportunities with professionals from leading technology companies, including those working in AI and other advanced tech fields.*

Program Schedule:

  • The Tech Flex Leaders program meets once a week for 9 months. Cohort options are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ORThursday from 4:30 - 7:00 PM.
  • Students are required to attend two (2) mandatory Office Hoursover the course of the semester to connect with program leadership.
  • Student orientation will take place in-person.
  • Technical sessions begin in September. Most sessions will take place via Zoom. Some Technical Sessions, Demo Days and Graduations will be held in-person. Applicants should be able to attend sessions in-person three (3) times a semester.

Program Curriculum:

  • During the first semester, students will learn how to code through web development, mastering HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap, while also being introduced to foundational concepts in AI, such as how AI tools work and how to use them responsibly. The semester will culminate in a Demo Day Competition, where top teams from all cohorts will present their final web projects to a panel of judges.
  • During the second semester, students will choose a specialized tech track to pursue - such as Advanced Web Development, UX Design, Digital Marketing, Product Management, or Data Science - with AI applications and tools integrated into each track to deepen their understanding of how AI is shaping every area of the tech industry. This gives students an additional, future-ready skillset to support their career and education goals.
  • [NYC Only] - After successful completion of the Fall and Spring semesters, interested NYC Tech Flex Leaders in good standing will work with our Access Tech team to obtain a paid, summer tech internship within our robust employer partner network. *Students in our LA and Miami programs will be eligible to apply for select roles as they become available.

Priority Deadline: Yesterday (sorry gang I procrastinated) BUT

Final Deadline (I think Rolling Admissions?): August 17th, 2026

(Applications in Los Angeles, Miami, and Atlanta are reviewed on a rolling basis beginning in July. We encourage you to apply early, as qualified applicants may be admitted before the application deadline.)

The Most Accurate T20 Tier List

The real ranking:

S+++ tier: which ever one you get into

A tier: The rest

Like why are we ranking T20s guys? We’d be lucky to get into any of them 😭

Yeah…I think I’m f***ked…

So, second sem ended and I have an 85 in all my classes except regular Spanish (Honors Chem, AP Lang, Calc BC, APUSH) and the only explanation I have for them is Laziness, Poor Mental Health, and these stupid body aches that keep getting worse.

At this point, I wonder if there’s any point in applying to T20s via Questbridge bc my grades suck (3.7+) my class rank’s gonna suck, at this point only the SAT can save my ass 😭

Is it even worth trying at this point..? Like I’m just trying not to cry right now…I’ve bothered my late enough with my bullshit.

Just can’t wait to finish life at this point, things just gotta suck more and more 🥀

For UPENN PEEP, do we need to ask a teacher's recommendation?

I've seen that in previous years they asked teachers to fill out a form, yet I don't see any indications that we'd need one this year?

What should I do/improve on before the NCM opens? (THIS IS NOT A CHANCE ME I PROMISE, Just wanna know my weak areas in order to plan accordingly)

- My GPA is a low 3.8 right now (doubt I'll be able to raise it any further bc I'm burnt-out as hell), with mostly As, a few A-s, a B in English honors (1st semester only, A- second sem), and a B- in the 1st semester of AP Calc BC (I'm on track of getting an A- this semester tho).

- I've taken 4 APs so far and planning to take 2-3 more next year. the rest are mostly honors with regular classes in my first two science classes (we only have honors Chem and Physics for now) and Spanish (the only Spanish I know is from watching Dora the Explorer as a toddler)

- My SAT superscore is 1310 (680 R, 630 Math)

- I only have 2 awards: Honor Roll and QB CPS (Maybe AP Scholar, I suck at tests lol)

- My ECs are fine but I wouldn't say impressive:

Summer Programs that are still opened!

BTW, these are all 100% Free

Macquarie LEADS Externship Program: The program is open to current high school juniors (rising seniors) in New York City, Houston, and Jacksonville. Here's what participants can look forward to:

• A five-week career development experience (July 6 – August 7, 2026)

• Exposure to the financial services industry and 1-on-1 connections with Macquarie mentors

• A mix of in-person sessions (2x/week) and Zoom workshops (3x/week)

• College and career readiness skills

• A $1,000 educational stipend upon completion

Applications are due May 31, 2026, but reviewed on a rolling basis so applying early is strongly encouraged.

(Link: macquarie-leads)

TECH360: A FREE, immersive summer program designed for high school students (10th and 11th) who are curious about technology and interested in exploring topics like artificial intelligence, problem-solving, and real-world tech applications. Students will gain hands-on experience, collaborate with peers, and build projects that reflect real industry challenges. Be sure to check out the flyer for key dates, eligibility details, and application information. Participants will get a $500 stipend! Due by May 24, 2026.

(I think this also depends on region however. Just check to make sure. NYCers are eligible either way tho)

(Edit 1: TECH360 is only for those in NYC, LA, Miami, and Atlanta.)

NYU Computer Science for Cyber Security (CS4CS): Offered by NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering, this four-week program equips students with the fundamentals of cybersecurity and computer science. CS4CS participants explore a variety of topics throughout the program, including cryptography, security-focused scripting, and digital forensics.

Participants will also engage in Capture the Flag competitions, hands-on security challenges, and research projects. This free program is open to residents of New York City, Nassau County, and New Jersey in the 10th and 11th grades. Due May 15, 2026.

Youth Art Connection | American Folk Art Museum: This six-session program from the American Folk Art Museum takes place throughout July and is aimed at high schoolers interested in careers in art and museums. Participants discuss pieces in the museum’s collection and create their own art inspired by it.

Students also meet with museum staff, get an up-close look at its operations, and visit other art institutions. All New York City high school juniors and seniors are eligible to apply; however, preference is given to those who live or attend school in Queens and are graduating seniors. Due May 8th, 2026.

Summer Shakespeare - Stella Adler Center for the Arts:

This free five-week summer program trains high schoolers in voice, movement, ensemble work, and scene study—culminating with the production of an abbreviated Shakespeare play. The program is open to New York City high school students with financial need and demonstrated need for exposure to the arts, such as students who don’t have access to art programming.

Just 22 students are selected to participate in the program. Due June 1, 2026.

I have more but those are either solely for those in NYC or take place during the school year and I also need them for myself.

Promise this ain't sponsored btw (I wish it was...I need money bad 😭)

Before anyone comes at me, the program ended a week ago and we won’t resume until September. I will tell them this but has it ever worked?

u/Ezoticx16 — 4 months ago

I just recently got an acceptance into the Girls Who Code Pathways Program!

Y'all can say whatever you want abt the selectivity but it's either this or rotting in bed for the rest of this summer (I still waiting/apply to stuff but, like, there's only 3 other options for me besides this and with my rejection streak, I'm just happy I got something other than QB CPS [didn't fill out awards form btw])

So, has anyone else done this program? If so, how was it like and do you think it's worth it?
