My ̶R̶a̶n̶d̶o̶m̶ ̶B̶u̶l̶l̶s̶h̶i̶t̶ Tier List of indie animation
This is Your Reminder that "Donut Canyon" is an indie show that exists
When people talk about Indie shows they're interested in and looking forward to, THIS is mine. Gravity Falls vibes with the Smile for Me artstyle. They even have a full episode animatic! Ya'll should give Team Egg Troop some support!
A trailer for our 3D/2D animated short 'Pigeons' dropped today. The short was narrated by the great Andy Serkis.
Last winter, I was fortunate enough to be Lead Animator on this beautiful film. The short follows the story of a carrier pigeon in a changing world and touches on themes of identity, purpose and survival in the face of automation (relevant much?). The short features 3D animated characters against a backdrop of beautifully painted 2D backgrounds, with special effects hand-drawn by Disney veteran Dan Lund. I am so proud of this project, and I’m beyond excited to share this trailer with you. Enjoy!
Did everyone just forget Happy Tree Friends exists?
This is like the most forgotten popular indie series only behind object shows.
I think it may have something to do with GLITCH (and others) shows being exponentially more popular
Also, did you know mondo is still making episodes? Yea, they have, it’s just that most of you never heard of it! Oh, and mondo has started paywalling them because of a lack of funds.
Help Me Find Unreal Engine YouTube Creators! 🤗
A few months ago, I created a video listing almost every Blender YouTube creator there is to know, and you guys seemed to really love it, with over 90K views on YouTube now. I thought maybe I should work on another one, but this time for a different 3D software. This is going to be brutal again lol 😅
After posting a poll across my social media, it looks like Unreal Engine is winning! 👀
Unreal Engine won the community poll by a huge margin, so I'm starting the research for the video.
If there's a creator you think deserves to be featured, submit them below! Whether they're a tutorial channel, environment artist, game developer, VFX artist, technical expert, or just hilarious 😅 — I want to know!
I'll review every submission.

Have you seen this indie pilot? Creep Critters Pushin' Up Daisies

Have you seen this indie pilot? I got it in my recs some time ago and this project immediately catched me. It reminds me of Happy Tree Friends but with plot and I absolutely love how it was depicted. Also style of this project is AMAZING.
I think Creep Critters deserve some more love so I just wanted to share it!
Safira’s bellydance animation!
I’m sharing this today! It’s 38°C today, and I’m already sweating just from watching Safira move. The worst part is that it looks pretty hot over on her end, too.
Anyway… I finally finished animating these longest 13 seconds of my life. This took forever, and I couldn't have done it without Laura Pacheco Cadena’s references.
Cheers!
I need your tips !
So I've wanted to make my own show for 10 years now and I decided to start !
I finished the plot, characters writing a nd design, world building and I have a small fanbase and even some fanart..
I would like to have tips for animation, I already have experience because I did some small animations before and this is my first big project ! For example how to make a more efficient animation, which techniques and app to use ?
I also would like to have to have tips about the original soundtrack (I kinda know how to make music but not this kind of music). And Also it's a musical but it shouldn't be a problem because I'm familiar with song writing and making.
I already found most of my VA but some roles are still missing if you're interested in
I’m sorry what.
What is this. How have I never heard of this before. Why is it so underrated.
This is genuinely one of the best videos I have ever watched. The jokes were impeccably funny and the music made me feel like I was ascending. And the animation was just CHEFS KISS. I’m sorry I don’t have better words to describe the utter masterpiece I just witnessed. But then again I guess it’s better to leave everything as a surprise.
Im so sad there were only two episodes made, but im glad the creator is moving on to projects they enjoy more and I wish them well. Please watch this if you haven’t seen it.

The Indie Animation HOT 100: Ranking the view counts of indie animated series from around the world! (as of july 1st 2026)
Criteria:
- No Episode Compalations
- Main series episodes only!
- Should have at least 2 episodes
- Youtube views only!
I just wanted to say thank you for all the show reccomendations from the last post i did.
This list couldnt be done without you guys. I ranked shows that im familer with to shows that are popular in other countries that ive never seen before. I was ranked many different series ranging from Serialized Stories(The Amazing Digital Circus,Nabiu), Episodic Comedies(Eddsworld,Bridge Kids),and series with music videos as episodes(Alien Stage,The Vampair Series). I found a website that made calculating the views much quicker and easier too.
Like i said before: the more views a show has dosent equate to the shows quality or popularity, this is just statistics.
Some of the data might not be pin-point accurate but i made sure the website that i used calculated everyhting right.
If theres anymore shows that I missed please comment them down below and if you can, please record the views with the criteria provided. Also some series from the last post might have wildly diffrent view counts this time so be aware of that too.
Again, Thanks for all the support, YOU made this possible!
Ok im goint to bed now. ☮️
THE CRUCIBLE MANIFESTO
I've seen too much, and i decided to do something about it. i have created the literal animation ten commandments. a list of rules and such for creating indie shows or shows in general. cause most indie shows often fall short of it. and yes i know it seems kind of crazy to go on some Reddit to try and tell people or make an entire doc about how to write or create a show and yes i know, but most shows nowadays often fall short on the stick or last so short that they are only remembered through memes and Tiktoks.

Animation from an animated pilot that I'm still working on (The Venturesome)
I need honest opinions about an animated series I'm planning to make.
"The village could not stop talking about Lydia's grandkid - not becuase he spoke weird,or because of his aloof nature, or even because he still hasn't grown out of his rebellious phase - but because it wasn't human, and she cared for it like it was her own blood and flesh."
A granny accidentally stumbles upon a page from the Necronomicon in an old cookbook whilst in search for new recipes. She summons an eldritch god - and mistakes it for her own grandson. The small village, however,is not tricked. And the god isn't amused, either.
This is going to be a cozy & semi comedy animated series with roughly 20 minute episodes. Indie project,of course. Basically all those 'cozy horror' game vibes flipped on their head. Instead of eldritch horror it's just homemade soup, found family and village rumours. An ancient god learns how to navigate the mortal plane and enjoy the company of humans, whilst Lydia delights that her 'grandson' came to visit her after years in university abroad.
I'm just trying to see if this is something people would actually watch or is this a stupid idea.
