For me it’s ryu vs liu kang, peter spiderman vs jaime blue beetle but only if iron spider and cosmic spiderman are allowed, etrigan vs devilman and steve and the terrarian. I guess darth sidious vs xehanort applies to me too but I don’t know a whole lot about either character to say for sure

I don’t know how other artists dedicate into on doing art of one thing or motif, how do they do it?

Ive seen artists that whos art is all about one thing or motif or just art of which their pieces all have something in common. whether it is art of their OCs, flowers, animals, spiritualism, women, children book illustrations, whatever, they stick to it or even dedicate their entire art career out of it. All while i can barely stick to one thing to draw about at the moment when I’m in the mood because I have autism, ADHD, something called executive dysfunction in which it makes me “lazy or stubborn” to do things and maybe some OCD too with how (sometimes) organized and perfectionist I am.

like you know how artists sometimes have a problem with “art block” or can’t think of what to draw? I have like the opposite problem; got so many ideas for different creative projects -art or otherwise- that it overwhelms me or its just hard to decide or know where to begin so more often than not, I end up not doing art at all. I used to call it something like “art paperwork” because of how endless my ideas to work on are like, but that would imply that I’m actually working on those ideas and projects, so now I think calling it something like “overcreativity” feels much more accurate and fitting

The closest i could manage to stick to as one consistent motif to draw about has been pretty women, trains and occasionally my OCs and even then its most certainly by default because of the biological desire for lust in me for the first one, ive been into trains again as of late for the second one and the third one is only if im lucky. Which is weird because i consider myself as a cartoonist and you expect a cartoonist to constantly -or at least consistently- draw cartoon characters regularly, right?

This isn’t so much me comparing myself to other artists but rather me struggling to understand how other artists can do it or have it so easy to stick to one thing to make art about. I get that for some artists thats like literally the only thing they know how to do art of or the only thing they know how to do right, but I just would like to know to further understand

Ok I can kinda get the complaints about the fight animation not looking good and minion (Megamind’s minion that is) not doing enough as somewhat valid complaints, but still
