If there was an M Rated Life sim what would you want in it?

If there was an M Rated Life sim what would you want in it?

Basically I was thinking that since most other life sims have Teen ratings or under I was wondering what any of you would want in a hypothetical M rated Life sim?

For me I think more overt references to alcohol and less restrictions on the types of clothing they can include would be meet to see. Maybe even overt references to drugs and more complex things your characters can experience like alcoholism and drug abuse, ect.

Anyway what would you want in this hypothetical game?

I think it would be cool if we had a life sim that looked similar to Marvel Rivals

Basically I really like the painterly comic book art style that the game has and I think that it works in a bunch of different aesthetics in themes that really sells it on me.

I don’t have any major reasonings other than that I really like the art style

I hate r/thatstupidbunnyihate

Basically this is a subreddit entirely dedicated to hating Jax from The Amazing Digital Circus and how the finale treated them.

Basically the sub is full of some of the most braindead and frustrating takes you could imagine from people who very clearly didn’t understand what the finale was trying to say and don’t want their preconceived opinions challenged. And a lot of it borders on ablism towards mentally ill people and even edges on transphobia on a couple of occasions.

I’m not saying you can’t dislike the character or not criticize the show but the way this sub looks at this character is straight up obsessive and brain dead.

Basically my thoughts are the second image(Alex Hirsch’s tweet)

If we got a Predator: Killer of Killers sequel, what are some time periods/settings you would like to see?

Basically if they ever make a sequel to this what segments would you think would be cool to see?

For me?

  1. an Aztec empire setting, I think it would be cool to see a segment based on the Aztec empire with an Aztec warrior protagonist maybe during the Spanish conquest against the Aztecs?

  2. Ancient Rome, I think a segment about a Roman gladiator against a predator would be really cool and if it was set predominantly in a colosseum it could lead to some really cool action.

  3. The Golden Age of Pirates, no specific reason I just think the idea of a pirate captain against a predator could be really cool, like a naval battle against a flying vessel.

Anyway those are some of my suggestions, how about you?

Let’s create this subs ideal life sim Day 5: Soundtrack

For day 4 Inzoi won for Art style/graphics by a large percentage but Sims Medieval was close behind as the runner up. For today we’re discussing soundtrack, what music do you hear when you’re playing the game?

Some general rules:

  1. please keep the discussions civil and respectful, let’s try not to start arguments just because someone may have a different opinion than you

  2. non sims-like life sims and spinoff’s count(for example if you wanted to say Stardew Valley for NPCs or Sims Medieval for art style/graphics that’s allowed)

  3. the green square indicates what topic is currently being discussed and will be replaced by an image of the game that won the next discussion

  4. the winner will be chosen from a mixture of replies and upvotes to replies(so something that got more comments could in theory lose to a reply that has more overall upvotes)

  5. please keep suggestions/votes down to one game, it makes it easier to count

  6. more rules may be added if needed

Let’s create this subs ideal life sim Day 4: Art Style/Graphics

For day 3 Paralives won by a wide margin with the sims 4 being a distant runner up, now for day 4 it’s Art Style/graphics, now obviously Art Style and Graphics are two completely different things but since people tend to conflate the two I decided to lump them together.

Let’s create this subs ideal life sim Day 2: Character Creation

Sims 2 won for gameplay on day 1 with Sims 3 close behind. Now for character creation, what game’s character creator do you want for this “ideal” life sim

  5. (NEW RULE) please keep suggestions/votes down to one game, it makes it easier to count

  6. more rules may be added if needed

Let’s create this subs ideal life sim Day 1: Gameplay

I thought it would be fun to do a sort of community question/discussion to see what overall would be this subs ideal life sim.

  5. more rules may be added if needed

Anyways for the first day I decided to start off with arguably the most important aspect to any game the Gameplay. What life sim has the best gameplay in your opinion?

[Loved Trope] aliens in a fantasy setting

  1. Dungeons and Dragons: Mind flayers in lore come from a dead alien planet and feed on other worlds creating more mind flayers moving to the next one

  2. He man Universe/She-Ra and the Princesses of power: this franchise is already a science fantasy so aliens and alien like beings aren’t new to it but the reboot of She Ra has the best example of it in my opinion.

Horde Prime is an extraterrestrial invader who has created thousands of clones of himself for the sole purpose of conquering and destroying every world he comes across and assimilating the survivors into his hive mind.

  1. The Dark Crystal: centuries before the start of the original movie a group of extraterrestrial beings called the UrSkeks came to the world of Thra and gave the worlds creator a planetarium and the ability to mentally explore the universe in exchange to get access to and experiment with the Dark Crystal.

In doing so they accidentally broke a shard off of it causing their bodies to be split in two, becoming the Skeksis and Mystics

  1. Final Fantasy 4: a race introduced in final fantasy 4 they are the Lunarians beings who reside on the moon and have a higher level of technology than the humans on the planet the moon revolves around.

[loved trope] a story uses the medium it’s in to create Horror/Discomfort

  1. House of Leaves: this book is famous for its unconventional formatting and how it utilizes that formatting to visually tell it’s story in a medium where traditional there are no visuals, and the story being a psychological horror a lot of this formatting contributes to this

  2. Deltarune, Weird Route: in the weird route of Deltarune it utilizes the fact that it’s a video game to further sell the sense of unease that that route has, especially in chapter 4, in that chapter not only do you’re text boxes have the exact same choice on this route but in one scene you’re given a text box to choose a response but all 4 of the choices are blank.

  3. Eternal Darkness: this cult classic GameCube game from 2002 is famous for how it integrated its sanity system to make the player themselves feel like they were going insane, if you’re sanity is low enough several things can happen that essentially break the 4th wall, the volume can change, the screen will go to black, it’ll fake a game crash and infamously will trick you into thinking you deleted your entire save file.

Why haven’t more life sims implemented the “separate bangs separate back” hair customization you see in other games?

Basically I just wonder why more life sims don’t implement customization to change your bangs and back hair separately, the newest Tomodachi Life is the only life sim I can think of that actually implements this type of hair customization.

I don’t think it would be too difficult to implement and it would also allow for a significant amount of more customization. Is there any reason this hasn’t been done more?

Is there any art style from another piece of media you’d like to see in a life sim?

For me, I think a style similar to the current Atlus style(aka games where Shigenori Soejima was a prominent artist/character designer) would be cool to see, games like persona 5, 3r, 4r, Catherine, and Metaphore Refantazio are sort of the style I’m referring to. I personally think the style is versatile enough to work within a variety of aesthetics and themes. Also a lot of these games have elements reminiscent of a life sim so it wouldn’t be too out there to see a full blown life sim with this style.

Anyway that’s my choice, what about yours?

Characters who are obvious parodies of someone famous

  1. HP Hatecraft, Mystery Incorporated: even without the fact that he’s a horror writer his name alone lets you know he’s a parody of HP Lovecraft

  2. Darla Dimple, Cats Don’t Dance: her appearance is virtually identical to Shirley Temple, the twist being she’s a psychotic spoiled brat

  3. The Mayor, The Amazing World of Gumball: he’s a very obvious Trump parody

  2. Xenomorphs from the Alien Franchise
