This 7.1.2 surround sound for sim racing popped into my feed since I'm also into sim racing. My first thought was "hell yeah". Second thought was, of course, "I could build it better." But can I? I'm not sure what I would build the housing from except 3d print, which would take a ton of design work and a ton of time to print something rigid enough. And even then, would it sound good enough or would I be more pleased with a true 7.1.2 using satellite speakers on stands? True 7.1.2 also feels like massive overkill for a sim and the idea of connecting an AVR to my PC makes me laugh. I'm torn. Should I go for it, or give it the fuck-it stamp?
