Building up my cathay and the peasants banner is too cool!! But I might not want to field him in a block of archers.

Can I just slap him in the back ranks and take him as casualty as normal when push comes to shove?

Yes I know it’s probably a “check with your opponent” job. But no point me building them if most of my opponents will

Those flagelents can’t be taken as is, but I’m sure they’d fill in the back rank of a blob of other dudes.

I can’t say it’s entirely clear if I need all 3 books, 1+3 , 2+3 etc.

If I have zero. Which should I buy?

Both 2+3 say I need Arcane Journal: Armies of Grand Cathay, but I’ve seen comments saying the army list in 3 invalidates the original……
