Reason why they are expensive:

There are a bunch of colors you can get a Kubrow in, and it always picks 3 of them at random for the base colors. Some are significantly less common than others. So, to a collector, triple rare is already good. The only thing better would be solid rare (meaning 3x the exact same rare color)

Then, there's size (as in Musculature. Not height). Bigger Kubrows are more sought after, and Bulky is the biggest. (There is a categorization above it called Omega, but that is a purely community made classification and is based on height as well, which is not a trait you can sell.)

And lastly, the Lotus pattern is by far the rarest.

This is like getting a Lich called Bopp Bipp with an ephemera and a 60% Kuva Nukor or something (technically not as good, but you get the point).

There is only 1 things that could beat these in terms of price:

1.A helminth charger with 4 Rares (or 4 Rares solid color scheme)

In short, renting means borrowing a pet's imprints from the seller, then giving them back once you incubate your own copy of said pet. Instead of spending thousands of platinum on a nice kubrow, you pay only have to pay a small fee. However, you lose the privilege of reselling your new pet's imprints (and potentially earning more than you spent).

Renting usually goes like this:

• Player #1 trades with Player #2. Player #1 gives the imprints in exchange for the Player #2's 80p and some collateral (usually a plat or a good riven or something of equal value, this is to ensure they don't run away with the precious pet worth at least 500p).

• Player #2 goes back to their orbiter and incubates a pet using those two imprints, basically making a copy. Buyers are free to name their new pet however they want.

• Player #2 rushes incubation (15p) and rushes making two imprints of their newly made pet (2x10p = 20p).

• Player #1 and Player #2 trade again, giving the imprints and collateral back.

Take note that you need to prepare yourself before renting someone else's pet, that means — have 1 incubator core, 1 free stasis slot, 2 genetic code templates, and 10 kavat genetic codes or 1 kubrow egg ready before the trade even happens.
