Long time lurker

Long time lurker

So I’m a long time 40K player, originally 2nd-4th and then getting back in at the end of 7th edition.
30k has always interested me and I have been slowly building an Iron Warrior force over the past few years.
A friend and I have committed to playing our first game at Christmas after adding a little more to our armies.
However as someone new it all looks very daunting. Im sure once you get in to it the books make a lot more sense. In 40k I think I have become very dependant on the app.
I know theres no offical app but are there any unofficial aids for list building and referencing rules easily that you would recommend to a new player?

Albon China 2025

Picked this up whilst I was out today. A bit of an impulsive purchase but I think the colour combo is striking.

Sheriff Arens

I always thought Mulder Killed the sheriff of Dudley, I can't believe he became the fire chief of Blackwood County.

Bust on maker world

Does anyone know when George Russell was cast as Mulder? Not sure who they cast as Scully.

Painting and varnishing folding terrain

I had been looking to print a full tables worth of terrain that would look cohesive together for 11th ed 40K.
I stumped up and bought the cathedrals of steel STLs from my mini factory and I’m really happy with them. For something I am printing myself with zero effort I think they’re great.
I also don’t have heaps of space so the folding aspect really appealed to me.
Now though I’m wondering what’s the best way to prime, paint and seal them to minimise chips etc. I’m accepting of the fact zero damage is impossible on a folding product like this.

The basic.

I’ve watched all the series and I’m just starting to listen to the books on Audible.
In Calibans war they mention ‘the basic’ as some kind of universal credit for Earthers who don’t want to work.
Is this discussed in further depth anywhere else? I only ask as it’s something I’ve been thinking about with the rise of AI in real life and I found it an interesting concept.

Sainz 2025

Just as I got my collection all nicely set up a year old Spark pre order arrived.
In my opinion Williams, Sainz has the nicest ‘normal’ helmet behind only Lando.
The metallic blue on this one is really nice.

Helmet collection

Went back to the UK recently and managed to pick up my 90s helmets to go with the more recent ones I have been collecting.
It feels good to get them all together.

Never knew home was controversial

I have been an X files fan since the 90s and regularly cycle through the seasons whilst painting miniatures.
I never knew until recently there was any drama about home. Perhaps this was because I was a kid in the UK at the time and I just didn’t hear about it.
I now watch on Disney+ in Australia and have no idea if I have watched an uncut version or not.
How do you tell which is the uncensored version and where can I find it legally or otherwise?
