I was accepted for the full cash advance of Cleo this morning early hours and it was sent to my bank. I have a confirmation email of funds being sent and credit agreement. In the Cleo app it shows as repayment of amount and due date. My bank was connected.
Any idea why I haven’t received the funds? It’s been about 7/8 hours now and I have nothing in my bank it says it sent to. UK account

Today marks 3 weeks without a bet. The longest I’m sure I have gone in over 8 years. Today is day 21, this time last year I went 18 days and restarted as soon as the Premier League began again.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about the new season starting, I had a thought about betting on today’s community shield however it was nothing more than a though and there was no intent behind it.
I’m proud of my 3 weeks of progress, the Premier League starts next week but this time I believe I’ll get through it without a bet and hit 1 month!
I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary as yet just some meditation loosely using Mo, but I intend to look further in getting help really soon.
I’m going to have a beer now to celebrate! Cheers!
I have been gambling since I turned 18 and over the years it’s obviously getting worse. I gambled the whole way through university, continued after when I went into full time employment. Up until the last few months where it’s massively caught me out to the point I’m borrowing excessively and doing whatever I can just to find £10/20 for fuel or anything.
I was put under pressure in early 2025 to move in with my long term partner because she thought that I didn’t love her enough to live with her (she was living alone at the time). This was when I came clean to her about my addiction and the reason why I couldn’t move in with her. In 4-6 months of telling her I sorted myself out and moved in with her and we’ve now been living together for 15 months and it’s been great. For the first few months I was better / more regulated with my gambling. Last July/August. I went 18 days without gambling and as soon as the Premier League restarted I bet on the first game and didn’t stop from there until now.
I’ve obviously struggled since then for the year with controlling it and got myself into loads of debt again. Previously I had gone into a DMP which was £200 a month for 3 years and in February this year I finished paying that off.
As of right now, I am in smaller debt than before, but still significant enough. I have 2x £1000 overdrafts, £900 on Zilch, a £500 credit card, £800 credit card, £600 line of credit, £90 owed at Bits and 2x outstanding payday loans with last payment next month (£250 combined). Total debts here at roughly £5-6000, as well as owing roughly £650 to people which I intend to payback ASAP.
I currently earn 30k a year at my current job and I have a second job which pays around 8k a year, however I get paid for this at different times in lump sums after doing 10-15 days work when available being on a day rate.
Anyway, I was away with work out of the country just over 2 weeks ago and I got caught out. I had a parking fine sat at £160 (from £25 initially) from the council which ended up in a bailiff coming to my house. My girlfriend was home and rang me while I was working to say there was a bailiff at the door who wasn’t leaving until £411 was paid else he had a warrant to seize possessions up to this amount. I had to ring my dad to pay it because I didn’t have the money to pay it at all. The guilt from putting her through this is still hurting me. Luckily my dad bailed me out and I will pay him the money back. It’s an extremely naive and avoidable situation I know but I just wouldn’t spare even the £25/£50 to pay it off at the time and let it spiral to this point.
This situation has completely broken the trust my partner had with me and is the first time really the gambling has been bought back up without it being a small passing conversation between us where she asks are you ok? And I lie and say yeah and continue what I’m doing. She’s now serious that I need to sort myself out and get help. I’m lucky that she’s chosen to be supportive of me but I know it’s going to be a struggle where she’s constantly on my back as well.
Since this happened today is day 17 without a bet. Nearly at the 18 days I hit last year but I feel in a better place to get past that this year. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling slightly nervous for the football season to restart properly but I know that I seriously need to this addiction now. Not just to save my relationship but to save myself and my future as well.
In terms of my actual gambling, I feel like I had control somewhat where I would extremely rarely bet large stakes up to £100 because I wouldn’t have the courage. But I would bet £15/£20 on every football game, every night there was basketball on, darts, cricket etc. in high quantities and chase losses like there was no tomorrow. Throughout the whole World Cup I think I probably bet on 95% on the games in the tournament where possible.
I’m accepting now I need help and I need to save my future. I don’t know what the best support is out there right now. I don’t particularly want to go to GA meetings as my partner is suggesting. I would prefer something online or anonymous that actually helps but don’t know where to start. Over the past week I have been using Mo on a free trial which is a meditation app designed to help beat gambling addiction. I think it’s helped but I’m mostly struggling mentally at the moment where all of these events have hit me and I realise my great need to stop.
Any suggestions around any of these topics, I’d be so grateful. Sorry for the long post but it’s helped me to write all of these things out and put everything into perspective by telling my one long story.
