Hi folks, am thinking of switching from Octopus to EDF. I have a solar and battery and so have been trying to find out the empower import tariffs from EDF but it’s been close to impossible. Have called their customer service and the only thing I got back from them was - it’s not my department + their solar team is an internal team so no way of contacting them. I can’t seem to find the info online either. Thank you!
Hi all, a bit of an odd one but I have just signed up to Octopus Flux and connected with FoxESS. I understand that by connecting I’ve given permission for Octopus to effectively control my FoxESS which I get for Agile and Intelligent but a bit confused why it applies to normal Flux. Since I connected, Octopus changed my set up from self use to a mode scheduler with random discharge times (effectively meaning I’m importing more electricity from the grid. I’ve since disconnected FoxESS from Octopus as I wasn’t sure whether it’d just override my self use mode again and random change it to mode scheduler. Has anyone encountered this with Octopus Flux?
So I’ve switched from another provider to One Touch Switch and have a question. Soon to be former Provider says that the switch will happen on 12 August. I’m thinking of arranging for my install date sometime next week (pre installation already done). Hyperoptic says to allow at least 10 days before internet service starts. So my question is (a) does service start on the switch date (ie 12 August) and (b) assuming internet service starts before the switch date, when will I start being billed - on the switch date or when the internet service starts? It’s not very clear on the website…
I’ve decided to bite the bullet and get solar installed for my property. My annual electricity consumption is about 3370 kWh and gas 12k kWh (combi boiler). We’ve got a quote for ten panels Aiko, sunsynk 5kwh inverter and 5.32kwh battery. Cost would be 7.5k. Am thinking of future proofing my property as would be replacing the boiler with a heat pump in around 5-10 years and potentially getting an EV car in about 5 years. Would it be worth upgrading to a 8kwh inverter, 13 panels and an extra battery? We’ve got a quote of around 10.2k for the upsize. Also, any considerations about being able to export more energy in the summer months with a bigger battery etc? The combi boiler is about 4 years old, still going strong and serviced every year.
Hello everyone, back in 2023, I bought the third edition of UoL books with the intention to taking the Jan 2024 exams but then life got in the way and now am thinking of taking the Jan 2027 / Jul 2027 SQE1 exams.
Was thinking it’d be such a waste if I bought the Fifth Edition of the UoL books and my thoughts were to purchase the revise SQE books to get the latest law updates and read that in conjunction with the books. I’ll also be supplementing with mocks such as theonehundred mock, solicitorexam prep and OUP access (heard their books aren’t as great as UOL).
Would be great to hear your thoughts or if I should just suck it up and purchase the latest edition.
