Honestly I can’t even tell what counts as insurance anymore

A few years ago i felt like healthcare options were pretty straightforward

now every time i look into something, there’s another layer:

networks

third party admins

membership models

employer style benefits

wellness programs

research participation stuff

and somehow all of it still gets talked about like it’s the exact same thing

i looked into LifeX recently and half the people described it one way while the other half described it completely differently, which honestly made me realize most consumers probably have no idea how these systems are actually structured behind the scenes

not even defending or criticizing it specifically, just feels like healthcare has become incredibly hard to categorize now.

Anyone else keep discovering new triggers out of nowhere?

I swear every few months my migraines decide something completely random is suddenly a problem. Last year I could sit under bright lights all day no issue and now one long grocery store trip somehow ruins my whole evening. Makes it impossible to feel like I’ve actually figured my triggers out.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to structure marketing when there are multiple things happening at once — ongoing campaigns, brand messaging, and then new product launches with their own positioning.

It starts to feel messy pretty quickly, especially when each launch wants its own attention and messaging.

One thing I’ve been thinking about is whether everything should tie back to a single core narrative, or if each launch should stand more independently.

Also curious how people here handle this internally — do you plan quarterly themes, campaign layers, or something else entirely?

Would love to hear what’s actually worked in practice (and what ended up creating more confusion than clarity).

For the longest time I thought getting B2B clients was just a volume game.

Send more messages, reach more people, eventually something sticks.

But honestly, it just felt like shouting into the void.

Most people I reached out to had zero reason to care at that moment.

Recently started thinking about it differently — instead of asking “who fits my ICP?”

I started asking who might actually need this right now?

Things like:

companies hiring for related roles

teams actively posting/engaging in my space

businesses that just raised or are expanding

Not saying I’ve cracked it yet, but conversations feel way more relevant compared to before.

Curious how others are approaching this — are you still doing cold outreach at scale or shifting towards more intent-based targeting?

For months I was doing outbound the standard way,build a list, personalize the first line, send, follow up, repeat.

Reply rate was stuck at 1-2% no matter what I changed.

The real problem wasn't my copy or my sequence. It was that I had no real reason to reach out to those specific people on that specific day.

The shift that changed everything , I stopped asking who fits my ICP and started asking who has a reason to care right now.

Signals I started paying attention to:

Company just posted multiple sales/marketing roles → scaling, budget is open

New VP or Head of relevant department just joined → new leaders bring new tools

Just announced funding → money is available, decisions are being made

Someone from their team engaging with content in my space → interest is already there

Same message. Same ICP. Just better timing.

Reply rates went from 1-2% to consistently 7-8%. Nothing else changed — not the copy, not the CTA, not the channel.

Anyone else doing signal-based outreach? What buying signals do you track before reaching out?
