Since watching KinnPorsche and Shine, I realized my love for a romantic BL couple to be of similar build and age. What actors with similar bodies/ages would you want to see as partners in a BL? You don’t need to say who is top/bottom, just the two you think would be amazing together like MileApo.

Release date is set for sometime in 2027. Season 2 is based on the book The Long Game, by Rachel Reid. The Canadien series is on HBO Max.
I don’t know what they’re called, but it’s when the actors use their fingers to give themselves cat or dog ears, and when they do a body roll into a cat pose. Things like that.
Anyway, what does it mean? I ask because I assumed it was just something cute, but I’ve noticed some BL actors legitimately won’t do it. Joss won’t do it and said he doesn’t think it’s funny. Ayden Sng won’t do it, and he won’t let his partner Elio do it either. He finally gave Elio cat ears, saying that fans can no longer call him stingy. There was another actor who, at a fan sign table, told all the fans at once that he wouldn’t be doing any of that.
Is it seen as feminine? I know Est doesn’t like being called pretty, while Jeff Satur likes it. Are those poses similar to that?

I watched episode 1 of A Dog and a Plane, and was so surprised to hear several different swear words, some of which I have never heard in a BL before, plus a couple blurred out items, PLUS crude jokes, double plus that it’s on GMMTV?! I have zero problem with any of that, to be clear. I want to make sure I’m seeing this all correctly because in the nearly 30 Thaibl’s I’ve seen, I have never seen or heard all of it in one series, let alone one episode. KinnPorsche is the only one that swears a lot with words other than bastard and sh*t. Honestly, it was refreshing to see those ages in a bl and hear words people actually say.
Were the translations correct on Gaga? I don’t know if I’m allowed to list the words or phrases.

Were two things blurred in every version? One was a lower body part and the other was what the passenger was holding on the plane.
I recently came across some bts footage of the Kpop group Stray Kids (I don’t listen to kpop, but it randomly showed up on my social media feed). Behind the scenes the group members are all over each other (not inappropriately). They cuddle, kiss cheeks and heads, openly talk about holding each other while they sleep. And when they notice a camera, it doesn’t change their interaction at all.
In comparison, a lot of the bts footage I see of Thaibl pairs, they immediately separate when they see a camera filming them touching certain ways. Hugging, holding hands, laying their head on their partner’s chest. They pull their face away when their partner goes to kiss their cheek. The only pair I see comfortable and open with it are BoatOat.
Is it a cultural thing? Could it be the comfort level due to how long they spend in each other’s company? I ask because I was shocked seeing the kpop group being so physical all the time and it being natural for them in front of everyone.
Thank you for being a part of such a fun, laid back viewership. I love so much that we can poke fun and have a lighthearted laugh while enjoying a bl. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. We can love the show AND joke about it. No need to walk on eggshells around here. It makes watching the series that much more fun. So thank you for making me look forward to Tuesdays.
Good on western media for representing bl in their magazines, both print editions and online. Not only do the actors have brand advertisements in high end fashion magazines, they also have total spreads in magazines that focus on their series. The articles and interviews aren’t afraid to talk about lgbtq themes and filming sex scenes, and they get right to portraying a realistic view of the actors, their personalities, and their chemistry. The last photo is Call Me By Your Name actors featured in W magazine.

Both are innocent and gullible, and also fiercely loyal and eager to please their boyfriend. I love a hissing tortured mc, but I like them a lot more when they have an enthusiastic boyfriend who always has a huge smile on his face.
Characters like that melt my heart.
I always see a ton of posts showing the actors who play the uke getting the “princess treatment”. The actor they’re paired with often does things like: leads them with their hand on their back or arm, gets them food, covers their skin when it’s showing, opens doors, pulls their seat out, etc.
Do those habits ever work the other way as often?
I think Boat and Oat are the BL actors who are most comfortable and open with nc scenes. They do an excellent job of making it look incredibly realistic, beyond just kissing. The bts footage of filming nc scenes is always professional and their comfort around one another is unmatched. I’m grateful that they are willing and secure with showing more than most bl pairs (MileApo and FortPeat are comparable) because their series are intimacy focused.
Boat’s portrayal of Omegaverse in Knot has made me believe all of it. There is literal drool going down Oat’s leg because Boat’s tongue game is unmatched. The grinding those two did was uncensored.
Thank you Yun Nagira for creating one of the most unique couples in bl media. Usually I think “you don’t need a relationship, you need therapy!” But for My Beautiful Man, I never want them to get therapy. I want them to live the rest of their lives being happily creepy and intense.
When other bl’s have just one of the mc’s being questionable and uncomfortably obsessed, My Beautiful Man has both of them acting out their deep seated childhood trauma, morphing it into an all consuming love. I mean, I don’t know if it’s actual love, but they want it.
The author of the novels said she loves that seme/uke dynamic so she wanted to write it, full force. The relationship is both off-putting and appealing and I love it so much.
Can someone tell me what Kiyoi means when he calls Hira disgusting? Is the translation correct? Does he mean because they’re both guys or because he’s going overboard with showing his love in the moment? I thought he’d stop using that term by season 2, but he’s still doing it.
I don’t know if this is more of a rant. I finished watching My Personal Weatherman and am really disappointed. For a story that’s about using sex intentionally, there were no sex scenes.
NC is a powerful narrative tool. The story of Segasaki and Yoh relies on it to show Yoh’s lack of bodily autonomy and Segasaki’s vulnerability. It exists to show us their journey of deep need and affection to overcome their lack of verbal communication.
Segasaki tells Yoh in bed “I’ll take my time so even an incredibly dense guy like you can understand my feelings.” Then shows the audience nothing.
BL will give drawn out chase scenes or fight scenes, and even long scenes of characters talking about business, like The Wicked Game and To My Shore. When the heart of the story is centered around communication, specifically sexual, why bother making the series if it’s not going to be shown?

The eyes when these men are jealous make me weak. I want to know other BL characters who shoot lasers out of their eyes when their boyfriend is near another man.
I’ve read a bunch and the ones I liked better than the series were To My Shore, Love In The Air, and the two books for Me and Thee.
The series that I thought were better than the books were Addicted, Double Helix, My Stubborn.
What do you think about the BL novels you’ve read compared the to show?
I’ve been avoiding this series because after reading the book I didn’t know if I could take the angst or my hatred for Cheng Yi Chen. I’m on episode 4 or 5 and it’s so little angst and almost zero trauma compared to the book so far! Each character is at least semi-reasonable instead of intense and stubborn. They communicate relatively well, while at this point in the book I wanted Yi Chen and his brother to run away together and do their own thing. I just passed the scene where >!Yi Chen opens the door to see Lu Feng drunkenly sitting next to a guy. And he isn’t even having sex with him like in the book!<
I really hope it stays this tame because it’s a breeze to watch so far.
I get excited when I see what bl actors/series win awards, but then I see that it’s because they’re voted for by fans. Are there ones that don’t rely on fans? I’d love to see that.
I’m a horror fan, but am so tired of films that are left open-ended. I’d really like recommendations of horror movies of any genre that have an understandable, fully explained ending.
