Namaste everyone, I was curious about my ancestry and wanted to ask if anyone knows about the history/origin of Kshetri Bisht/Bista families from far-western Nepal.

I’m a Nepali Kshetri Bisht (not Brahmin), gotra: Kashyap. From what I know, my ancestors migrated from Baitadi to Darchula many years ago. And now I’m wondering where they originally came to Baitadi from.

While searching online, I found that many Bisht/Bista families are connected with Uttarakhand/Kumaon regions, especially around Pithoragarh, Dharchula, etc. So I got a bit confused whether my ancestry is mainly Khas Chhetri from western Nepal or linked to the Bishts of Uttarakhand/Kumaon side (or maybe both?).

I would also like to know more about my ancestral lineage (banshawali) in Uttarakhand—like how many generations ago or how many years back my roots might go, if anyone has knowledge about this history.

For those unfamiliar with the area: Baitadi and Darchula are districts in far-western Nepal near places like Dharchula, Jhulaghat, Pithoragarh, Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura.

If anyone knows about the migration/history of Bisht/Bista Kshetris in this region, I’d really appreciate learning more. Just genuinely curious about my roots and family history.

I study in a government school and i’ve been in the same school since grade 6. this year i just moved to class 9.

lately i heard that admission fees are removed in nepal after the new government rules. but our school still asked us to pay rs. 350 and we all just paid it without even thinking much.

now i’m just confused.

if admission fee is actually removed, then why were we asked to pay? and if it’s for something else, why didn’t they clearly tell us? It’s not about the money, it’s just about knowing what’s right and what’s not. like are rules actually being followed or not?
