Can someone explain why my timesheet got rejected after my client approved it?

This is my mom that I’m a live in for. She approved it just yesterday so I’m confused why now it’s rejected? My other two clients don’t have this same email so I’m not sure if I did something wrong? Should I just redo it or was there something I did wrong? I was under the allotted hours so I don’t know if it’s my fault or not

Where’s the best/cheapest place to park if you’re only visiting Disneyland for less than a full day?

I want to go visit tomorrow mainly to just go on a few rides and do some pin trading since I live about 20 mins away. I will probably be there for maybe 5-6 hours. I know you can get it partly validated at downtown disney but I’m trying to spend under $30 to park for about 6 hours. If anyone has suggestions let me know. I don’t mind walking and I know about the octa park and ride but I don’t really want to be on a 15 min drive on the bus.. just let me know if you guys have any suggestions thanks!

Reassessment hours didn’t change?

My mom had her reassessment for the first time this month and the SW went over things our first one never did. Emergency contacts, fire and rescue, what things are and aren’t covered, etc. he went through my mom’s needs as they have significantly changed since last year. Based on what extra things we added I assumed the hours would be upped a bit since we get less than an hour per day so less than 30 a month. But I’m checking now for the August time sheets and they show the exact same time? Will they update once it’s actually August or should I be believing the hours that are there? If those are the official hours is it possible to get an appeal and say it’s just not enough for the amount of care she needs? She’s 85% close to being bed ridden if she loses anymore mobility in her legs. She’s can’t even walk around the house without a walker and even then so she is a huge fall risk anyways.

For some reason my C cup bras are too big and my D cup bras are just right? Or am I missing something.

So this might be a dumb question since I work at a plus sized clothing store. My bras normally fit. But recently they have been getting a bit more wonky I assume I’m gaining a bit of weight for sure. I do switch between sizes but my problem is I normally fit fine in a 44c or 42dd. The 42dd is too tight which is fine I just use the 44c that I own. But for some reason my 44c has been too BIG in the cup? And my solution has seemed to be 44D? It fits and the cup isn’t too big. Does anyone know why that is? I would like to assume it’s because my bras are getting worn out but I’ve noticed it with some newer bras too. I’m definitely not a 46 because I can make the 44 on all 3 hooks but I don’t know why the D fits better than the C…

Should I be worried about my checks?

I submitted my last time sheets early for all 3 of my clients, two paper checks and one direct deposit. I got the deposit but haven’t gotten the papers yet in the mail. I know my mail from Ihss is coming in because I got the paper saying my direct deposit was going to my bank. Is this normal or should I call my specialist and ask about it? I know if I change to direct deposit now It won’t kick in till my next paycheck. I just want to make sure they didn’t get lost in the mail or something. I checked the sub thread and it doesn’t seem like anyone else is still waiting for payments anymore. My accounts are overdrawn and I have bills that need to be paid and I don’t know what to do

Cut in funding?

I was told California and another state got a huge cut in funding 1billion or so? How does that affect us? I’m new to Ihss so I need to know if I should start looking for other jobs or not. If anyone knows anything please let me know. No political talk I just want to know what’s going to happen to us moving forward.

How long till my clients Ihss hours are updating after reassessment

I am a live in and we just did our reassessment, the hours will definitely increase but how long until that’s reflected on her case? Should I assume it will be next month or does it usually take longer than that? It doesn’t matter either way I just want a heads up so I can plan accordingly. Thanks!

Do live ins pay tax on wages?

So I’ve been a live in for my mom for about a year and when I filed my taxes in the beginning of this year I spent 2 hours on the phone just for the worker to tell me no, she didn’t state if it was no just for backpay or no all around. Is it no JUST if you’re a live in for a family member? And is that forever or just the first year working?? I have two other clients I work for so I’m just a bit confused. It was my first year filing any taxes so I wasn’t sure what to do.

How should I prepare for vacation while working for Ihss?

I am a caregiver and I’m looking to take a week off next month just for personal time and a break from work. How do I make sure my clients are taken care of and won’t suffer from my temporary leave? Is it possible to have a temporary caregiver or is there a specific process? None of my clients are full time so it’s not like I’ll be gone forever but just a few days of the week. Thank you!

Client needs full care. Can someone help? OC, CA

I have a client who needs more help than I can provide. My current client is my first non family member and I just can’t be her only caregiver. She’s in Orange County CA and she has probably close to 65 hours a month not including the hours I work already. (100~ in total) She’s really needs a second caregiver because I can’t always be there for her when she is having troubles. If someone is interested please dm me. I can give more details because I do not want to just quit and leave her with 0 help. Her care isn’t hard it’s just too hard for me. I have two other clients already.
My IHSS supervisor (not sure what it’s called but the person you call when you find a new client) is not very helpful. She doesn’t understand all of my questions and I’m not sure if I’m not explaining them right or if English is not her first language but it’s extremely difficult to ask her for any help or what to do. I don’t have any other Ihss providers I know, I’ve never met a single one. So I don’t know where to go from here. Please help

Is it better or worse to have a clean house during reassessments?

Have a reassessment coming up for my mother I live with. Is it better make the house super clean or will that maybe show the worker that she doesn’t need as many hours? It’s 25 a month so anything higher than that would be better. If my house is always somewhat a mess because I never get enough time to clean her spaces or they get messy again very quickly… is that a good thing to show? Or will it just look like I’m neglecting to take care of her or something? This is our first reassessment so I don’t know what to expect from what the case worker will think of us

Have you ever switched clients with another provider?

I know I mention it on here a lot but I’m trying to let one of my clients go but I haven’t found another client that can fill the amount of hours I’m working. My client is in Orange County and could probably either use a different provider that’s not me or a second provider who can help. Is anyone else in the same boat? I know some providers are picky but I can’t be very picky due to me barely getting any calls for assistance. It’s frustrating. Why can’t there be an online database for clients and providers so you can look them up like by city or by certain descriptions…

Why do I only get a few calls from the registery a month?

I am new to ihss and currently have 2-3 clients and I’m really struggling because one of them I don’t want to work for anymore. I don’t know how to cut my client off nicely without them asking questions and I feel bad to suddenly leave the key and say I’m leaving. How can I slowly transition from that client to new people and how can I find people? I only get about 2-3 calls a month from people needed help from me and I’ve accepted almost all of them because I never get any other calls. I’m not sure if it’s because I don’t have enough experience or I’m too far away but my ihss lady who checks up on my schedule knows I’m willing to travel up to 15 miles from my home. I don’t know why it’s so hard to get information from ihss for clients because I know there are tons of clients who need help. Btw I’m not asking for client referrals or exact lists so I hope this isn’t against the rules I just don’t know how to find anyone else.

How can I maximize getting more hours for my family member during reassessment

I am a live in for my mom, when we did our assessment we got 25 hours a month thinking that was a lot. After taking care of new clients I realized that we are barely getting an hour a day which just isn’t enough for me to fully help and work at the same time. Our reassessment is this month, since our last assessment she has lost most of her ability to walk from using a walker long distance and to the bathroom, now to only being able to use the walk to the bathroom and using a motorized wheelchair everywhere else. Due to the size it’s too hard for her to really clean anywhere besides doing dishes in front of the sink or cooking. Is it best for me to be her to tell them what she needs? And how can I make sure she gets as much as other people that need less help than her but has 3-4x more hours. Any suggestions help thanks.

How to get a client to use all their hours?

I’m a new IHSS worker and only work for a family member but recently got on the registry. One of my clients has almost 100 hours and we use probably only about 50 of them a month. And most of the time I am just cleaning even those it says light housework but there’s not much to really do or clean. Most of the time I end up finding myself reorganizing things like kitchen, bathroom, closet, and even doing yard work. Is there something else I can suggest for my client? I’d really like to actually do care taking but I’ve only gotten one other client who needs help and she’s bed ridden so most of the time she just needs food and bathroom changes. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thank you!

What is the rule for driving clients? Am I liable at all times?

I am a new caregiver and have not taken care of anyone but family members and I really am just trying to learn what the more or less “solid” rule is for driving clients. I was told taking them to local grocery stores are okay but I don’t know what else is allowed or not, and even then so, if I drive them a mile down the road and get into an accident am I liable for the client with my insurance or does Ihss protect me in any way? Do I need to draw a hard line with clients and deny them any rides if they try to sue me for any type of accident even if I’m not at fault but I’m still liable?? If anyone can help me I appreciate it
I’m in California as well incase that changes anything legally by the way.

Payment fraud from a stolen identity

My mom recently got approved for both ssi and ssdi through our local state, she just got the approval letter this week. She went online to check her payment status and wait for the payment people to call her about where her direct deposits should be going through and noticed it says the banking info was updated yesterday, which she didn’t do. She called to inquire about it and they told her they couldn’t give out the bank name or routing number and more or less someone went into a bank with all her information and identification and routed whatever money she’s supposed to receive into their account. She and I aren’t sure what to do and what steps to take. Can anyone help? It’s urgent and I don’t want any of that money to be lost forever. She’s been fighting identity theft for years off and on with no luck about who’s using her information.
