Credit cards with lounge access (possibly free)
Just updating as of May 2026 if anyone’s wondering and sharing my own experience with the travel coverages.
Scotiabank passport - 6 lounge visits per year. Fee can be waived with an eligible bank account. No FX fee and the rates are great if you’re traveling to a country with Scotiabank like Mexico. I have had several claims with baggage loss/delay/ flight interruption with other cards but this card has insurance through Manulife and they will try their best to not pay you out. It’s been 3+ months and I’m still waiting.
Cibc aventura infinite- 4 visits per year. Fee can be waived with an eligible bank account. Excellent transfer coverage. Quick turnaround. No drama. I’ve had several claims and they’re wonderful!!!!
TD first class travel- 4 visits per year as of 2025 I believe. Good coverage and turnaround time. Fee can be waived with eligible bank account BUT card is also free for the first year.
BMO ascend WE MC- 4 visits per year. First year free. Have not had the chance to try out the coverage.
