We are buying our first house in the area. The builder applied for all permits before the renovation, but did not apply for permits to fix the damage after Helene stating that the permit offices were closed in the days following the hurricane and they didn’t have time to waste. Does anyone know if the permit offices were actually closed?

So we are under contract with our house. The seller is a contractor and renovated the whole house. He already had the inspection done a year ago and just sent it to us with notes on each issue saying if he fixed the issue or not. Realtor is saying we don’t need our own inspection since he already had it inspected a year ago. Are we supposed to just take his word that the issues have been fixed properly? Seems weird to me and I think we should have it reinspected. Advice would be greatly appreciated. L
