Deep pain during missionary and advice for relieving it

at certain points in my menstrual cycle, i can do any position and i feel comfortable with no pain. currently, we are trying to conceive so im more mindful of my body and cycle, and i noticed that before my ovulation in the middle of the month, missionary is incredibly painful. its not like a dry or tearing pain, it feels deep inside. during this time i feel most comfortable on top but im not sure why all of this is happening. i really like missionary so its kind of annoying having to give it up half the month. any advice for relieving the pain specifically for missionary, or is it more health related? i’m a month away from getting insurance so im just looking for things to ask about maybe or just make it enjoyable again.
