Ripping the Tube from the Mask

Hey all!

Last night was my 8th night since getting my CPAP machine. On night 5 I couldn't fall asleep and had a panic attack feeling very claustrophobic. I got some advice and adjusted some settings. I slept fine night 7, but last night I apparently ripped the mask off my face, removed the tube, and stayed asleep/was barely awake because I dont remember a thing.

I only had the mask on for about an hour according to my app. The tube was out of the mask so I am assuming I pulled the tube till it came off and ripped the mask off my face.

Has anyone else done this before?

Also random but has anyone been successful in losing weight to get rid of the mask? This feels so embarrassing. My snoring has made me so embarrassed for my whole life but was too tired and depressed to do anything about it. I am ready to do something and would love to hear others experiences in fighting that battle. My dad and grandfather are bother overweight and have sleep apnea. (I am 24 F, 5'4 and 240lbs)

Edit: I specifically changed the setting to turn off the ramping up of the pressure which did help my claustrophobia. This was the advice of my doctor.

Pet Friendly Places!

Hi! I am working on getting my cat used to her wearable carrier and want to bring her to local business in Raleigh to hang out for short periods of time. Does anyone have any recommendations for local bookstores, breweries, outdoor seated restaurants, coffee shops, etc that would be okay with this/are welcoming to pets in carriers? (Her name is Dolly Purrton)

Thank you!

Transferable Jobs

Hey guys! This is more of something I have been pondering and was wondering if the general public of reddit had any information.

My partner and I want to move to the UK from the USA. I want to do my masters program for education here. I am currently a teacher. My partners work experience is in the banking field (credit analysis).

He and I have been looking into jobs that have offices in the US (preferably Raleigh NC or remote) that also have offices abroad (thinking London, Glasgow, Dublin, etc) that he can apply for while working in the US (as this would be in a couple years while we save) so he can attempt to work his way up and transfer to the abroad office.

Does anyone know of any companies that would fit this description?

(Random additional info: my mom was born in England with dual citizenship, she let that expire because her birth mom was American living abroad at the time and her birth father was a random hook up/a British guy she never met. She had been looking into reestablishing her citizenship so I could lobby for mine which would in-turn make this whole process easier)

Thank you so much for any info you can give me! This is all currently hypothetical as we dont know if this dream will ever be possible for us.

My leaf turned brown!!

I couldn't be more devastated to be writing this post. My beautiful monstera turned BROWN overnight. I got this plant in March from target (10 bucks😎). I repotted it with a loose multi media soil that I found recommended in this sub. She has lived outside since I got her. She is up on the porch with the rest of my plants. I only water her when we are not expecting rain/the soil is dried out in the top 3-5 inches. I spray all my plants with Neem Oil once a week. I am incredibly upset about my leaf. 😞

I am including more photos of my beautiful plant because I love her. Only the first photo shows the browning I am referring to.

My cat that is photoed is eating a catnip plant I have growing specifically for her to chew on to prevent her from chewing on my other plants. (This works really well btw) Her name is Dolly Purrton.
