I am referring to this part. It only lets me choose one day. I'm confused, is this normal? It's also asking me how many hours I can work. Should I put a note in that box stating I can work all weekdays and weekends?

Does extra credit make your grade go down in classes??

I had a 100% in AP psych and after doing an extra credit assignment it went down to a 94%. 😭 I don't know why this happened. I probably didn't need the extra credit, but I wanted to do it to still keep an A in case of the final for our class being difficult.

How do you do MLA format?

I’m confused on how to do MLA format. I looked it up and it said last name then page number, but how are you supposed to do it for online articles with no page numbers? Do you just put the last name? If you keep using the same source as well, do you put the person’s last name for each sentence you use them in?

My teacher said its last name then year, but I heard thats incorrect and its a bit confusing. I need to learn it because I have another teacher who asked my class to use MLA.

How do I get over my mind going blank when writing for my exams??

I recently took my AP exams, and I did really well during class exams, but for my AP exams I struggled. The multiple choice questions were okay, but the writing was so difficult.

The thing is, in class I consistently get A’s on my DBQs, LEQs, and SAQs. I know this isn’t grade inflation because my other classmates get lower scores a lot of the time.

My mind just went blank during my exams and I felt like I made a lot of careless mistakes. It sucks because I know I ruined my chance at getting a 5 and I don’t know how to fix it for my next year exams. Also, I love writing, so it really sucked when I felt it was the part I struggled with the most.

Does anyone have any studying tips for when their mind just goes blank during exams?… I feel like in class exams I do fine, but things like AP exams I just blank out.

How can I talk to people when I don’t know how to interact with them?

I’m still in high school and I haven’t made a single friend. I don’t know how to interact with others and it’s really hard for me to know how to even talk with them. I feel like sometimes I come off as mean and in other situations I can’t speak at all. I often overthink situations due to this. The only way I can really talk to people is by mirroring them. I saw another post on here talking about being talked to as if you were a child, and I noticed some of my classmates talk to me like this.

I’ve always been really reserved and quiet. I’ve only made two in real life friends (one being a childhood friend who spoke to me first, another a friend from that childhood friend). The rest have been from elementary, which were just “friends” who bullied me and I didn’t realize it. Neither of these two go to my school.

Basically, how can I make friends when I have zero social skills? I’m told I have a very, very soft voice so it’s already difficult to speak to people. At least, if I don’t make friends, how can I improve my social skills?

Some of the corners of a library book ripped in my bag and I feel really bad

Some of the corners of a library book I got from the school library ripped and I feel really bad. I usually take really good care of the books I get, but when putting in the book in the bag, some corners ripped. I’m not sure what do…of course I’ll tell the Liberian, but I don’t know the type of punishment I’ll get and I feel bad they trusted me and this happened. I couldn’t turn in the library book today, even though it was due today either because of my AP tests. I included some pictures of the damage too, is this really bad? I’m in high school too, so I know I should have been more careful. I feel like after this I won’t be trusted to get borrow any more books. Will I likely be asked to pay for the whole book?

Question about what would constitute as a 5

I did a practice MCQ test on high school test prep and got a 58/75. On the AAQ, I got a 7/7 and on the EBQ a 6/7 using the 2025 college board FRQs. Would this be a 5 on the AP exam?

16F drank 555mg of caffeine

Hi, so I drank 555mg of caffeine without noticing as its during my exams week, so I wanted to stay up to study. I saw online saying that this is a lethal amount and now it's really scaring me. Do I need to go to the ER?? I feel fine, maybe a bit fidgety but not in pain or anything. I don't take any medications, just vitamins like b12 and d3. I drank a grande of nitro cold brew around an hour ago and a nondairy salted Carmel cold brew in the morning... It was mostly over time though, except the nitro cold brew I drank a bit more at a time. The salted Carmel cold brew was with extra ice too...

Last time I drank 480 mg of caffeine and was fine...I didn't know that consuming too much caffeine could cause problems and now I'm worried 😓 I try to not drink that much, but it helps me focus during studying

Does anyone know what time the exam starts PST time?

My AP psych teacher said its at 12:30pm,but everywhere online is saying it starts at 12:00pm. A bit confused, but I wanna make sure I get the right time because if I’m late I can’t take it.

I’ve barely started studying, am I done for?

I’ve been busy studying for APWH, which I think I bombed the test so there was no point, but I haven’t studied for AP psych except reviewing a bit on unit 0. My teacher has given us some notes, but I’m really worried because I heard a lot of the exam is memorization. I’m TERRIBLE at memorizing stuff and it’s difficult for me to memorize it for the EBQ. The exam is on May 12, so it’s only four days away!! How can I study??

The AP world exam is Thursday and I got 46/55 on the Princeton review for a practice exam. I’m not sure how accurate it is in terms of difficult, but this is worrying, since I got 9 of the questions wrong 😓 My teacher hasn’t had any mock exams either, since were going to be doing them as our finals. I’m also asking because I’m bad at remembering specific evidence for the SAQ, DBQ, and LEQ, so I don’t think I’ll get full points on those.

I got invited to join IB next year for my junior year, but I don’t know if taking AP would be better. I know this subreddit would likely be more bias towards AP, but I still want to get an opinion.

▲ 1 r/jobs

I’ve applied to around 20 places for a part time job and I haven’t heard back from them or have been rejected. How an I supposed to get a job? I don’t have any experience and I need the money for college… Are there any jobs that mainly hire teens?

▲ 87 r/vegan

I usually never eat out, but I was sick today and wanted pizza. I ordered a pizza and some side bread, which they offered vegan chorizo. I thought that everything would be fine, and I ate a slice of pizza. I didn’t notice anything wrong…but then when I ate the bread, I realized it was not vegan cheese. After examining the pizza, it seemed like actual chorizo as well.

I feel so grossed out. My family said it was vegan cheese, and that I’m just overreacting, but I know the difference between vegan cheese and non-vegan cheese. The color was off and the smell. You can smell the difference right away.

Thing is, they had put vegan on the food sticker as well. I thought that if it was on the sticker, theres no way it’s not vegan right? But, when I went to look online of how the vegan cheese and meat they have look, it was not the same.

The fact that it was an animal as well is what’s really upsetting. I feel so disgusting for eating meat, and that I should have noticed it wasn’t vegan. I feel so bad for the animal as well. I can’t get over the fact that theres a dead animal in my body. I just feel like I want to throw up.

I uploaded here before and I adjusted my classes to the changes people suggested.

I choose beginners orchestra, but would marching band be better? I want a music extracurricular, since I don’t really have any extracurriculars currently (I know, pretty bad.) Just to be clear, I’m not just wanting a music extracurricular just for college. I am interested in playing an instrument.

Also, the reason I’m taking Spanish 2 is that it wasn’t given to me in freshman year. Should I take Spanish 2 over the summer though? Then, I could take AP Spanish. I’m going to take algebra II over the summer as well.

For the medical core class, if I pass, I’ll be able to get a paid internship for senior year at a hospital. I’m also looking into tutoring younger kids junior year. Then, over the summer for this year, I’m trying to get volunteer hours at a hospital and a seasonal job. I kind of need a job anyways, since my family is lower-income.

Is this too much for junior year though? I want to be able to do good in my classes without ruining my GPA. I know that APUSH wouldn’t be necessary for pre-med, but I do enjoy history and writing…
