Buying Toyota Raize in a month or two.

People are saying that after the recent budget and new automotive policy, duties and taxes on JDM imports will be reduced significantly. I’m planning to buy a Toyota Raize in the next 1-2 months. After searching online, many sources and people are claiming the price could drop by 5 to 10 lakhs once the new duties kick in. Right now everything feels very confusing some dealers are saying prices might drop, others are pushing to buy now before stock runs out or something.
Has anyone seen actual notifications or reliable calculations for the Raize or similar 1000cc JDM cars?

Is the 5-10 lakh drop realistic?

Should I wait or buy now?

Any advice or recent experiences would be really helpful. Thanks!

I purchased a car, now dealer not giving me owner's biometric for Excise transfer

Hello members,

I bought a car from a person I found through PakWheels. He told me that the car was registered in his cousin's name and that he knew the owner personally. I even visited his house and he seemed like a decent person.

Before buying the car, I got a PakWheels inspection done. The report showed that the car was in normal condition, so I decided to purchase it. However, after some time, I discovered that the car had been involved in a major accident. It had serious engine problems, and the airbags had already been deployed. This information was never disclosed to me. In my view, this was a clear case of fraud, but unfortunately I only found out about it six months later.

I am not interested in arguing about what has already happened. My main problem now is the ownership transfer. At the time of sale, the seller promised that he would arrange the biometric verification of the registered owner so that I could transfer the vehicle into my name through the Excise Department.

It has now been six months since I bought the car, and despite repeated requests, he has never provided the biometric verification. The vehicle is still registered in someone else's name. I do not know whether that person is really his cousin or whether they are working together, but the fact remains that I still do not have the biometric verification required for the transfer.

When I contacted the seller again, he told me to go to the Excise Department and pay an additional Rs. 30,000 to some people there who would help transfer the vehicle without biometric verification. He claimed they could get the transfer done quickly.

I do not understand why I should have to pay an extra Rs. 30,000 when I have already suffered losses because the car turned out to be accidental and had major hidden defects. On top of that, I would still have to pay the official transfer fee as well.

At this point, I am considering taking legal action against the seller because he is not fulfilling his commitment to provide the biometric verification. Because the vehicle is not in my name, I am facing several problems. I cannot properly obtain insurance, manage vehicle-related matters, pay taxes with confidence, or access all the online services related to the vehicle.

I am also a student, so these issues are creating additional stress for me. I would like to sell the car, but since I am not the registered owner, potential buyers keep asking about the biometric transfer and ownership documents.

What should I do in this situation? Any advice would be appreciated.
