In an interview promoting Carrie he again explained “it’s an oil tanker if a project moving rights around” and again explained “we are constantly working on it”

But then explained “the logistics of the thing, the legal logistics are beyond intimidating, it’s a wild thing. One of these days”

I’m sure you guys may be getting tired of people posting about it here which I sympathize with but holy crap this is an all timer in the blue ball department.

How do you guys feel about this situation? More hopefully than me?

I took the online assessment and was invited for a second in person assessment. It will take roughly 6-7 hours. Will require fitness test and some knowledge.

They are aware I don’t have experience in this department. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how I should prepare? Would be greatly appreciated. I want to be as prepared as I can be. Thanks

I was still some what new. Me and a colleague had the same exact scope of work but different contractor. We worked the ticket together he was last on scene. I was new he’s been working here about 5 years. Apparently we both missed something that was not on prints. His contractor hit this line not mine.

I was called and told it was a close call but wasn’t mine because my context or did not hit it. A week goes by same manager called me and says it’s my damage because I was there last but we did it at the same time.

Is this normal ?

Just turned down a 1099 position with IES and idk if it was the right call. He said i get payed 10 per ticket no matter what and if it’s over 500 ft it’s 35 and over a 1000 it’s like 30 an hour or something.

But I would have to pay 200 a month for the company vehicle.

He said some guys make 1600 a week and the lazy ones make 800 a week.

I make 20 an hour rn with about 6 to 10 hours of over time a week.

Is this the right call? Was too many questions marks for me. Does anyone have experience working like this? Is it good?

I have been working at at a certain 4 letter company for 18 months. I have 3 damages 1 being a gas damage.

Wed I had an emergency locate with gas on it. I knew this was a high probability for a damage because excavation was right on top of my gas line.

I hooked up to all 3 hook up points that were close by and marked where they toned out to. But there was one 15 foot or so spot on the prints that 90 off the main (directly toward scope of excavation) that I could not catch a tone for.

I called my supervisor and he’s just angry I called him as always. Told me to hook up at this one spot which I told him I was already going to do and I know it’s going to do the same. He’s just angry as usual I’m calling.

I hook up and same. I don’t catch a tone for the area the prints show 90s off the main. I mark everything that tones, call contractor and tell them to dig with caution because of this and close ticket because I have been on this ticket for 2 and a half hours and borderline heat exhaustion my voice is even changing.

Water department hits the gas line and damages it. From the looks of it the portion that I couldn’t catch a tone for.

Boss is trying to say this damage is my fault. Which I’m ready to take accountability for but I’m wondering what yall think?

If we get 3 gas damages apparently they fire you.

When I first got hired it was 10. Now it’s 15

Thursday I closed 20 tickets with 26,645 ft
But that was because I had 40+ tickets most of them due that day so I pushed myself and my quality of locates DEFINITELY went down.

Friday they were saying you cannot leave unless you close 15 I closed 9 with 15000 ft

I always. Always have the most footage. Everyday. The area I work is rural and it’s 98 percent projects. If I get a ticket that’s 500ft 3 utilities that’s a chill ticket for me

Now I am hearing we need to close 20. That is literally impossible to do everyday and they are acting like it totally is which is making me feel crazy. How can I be locating the most footage everyday but you’re telling me I am not doing enough?

Am I crazy?

My finance and I cannot agree on a vehicle. Price range is 10 to 15k. I keep finding cheaper vehicles like Chevy trax, ford escape, or something with 60 to 85k miles but she wants to get a more “reliable” vehicle that’s a bit more with more miles like an Acura max or a Subaru forester 140 to 150k miles

It’s been 5 days and honestly research doesn’t help. There’s negative things about every car. Who’s right? What do we do? Just lost at this point. This a big deal and a lot of money for us can’t really afford to mess this up.

All of my tickets are projects these days. If I’m lucky it’s about 500 feet. But on average one of my tickets is anywhere between 1000 feet to 2 miles (just did a 21 mile one) typically 2 to 4 utilities each ticket. Rarely is there 1.

I know this is broad but I need to know what’s normal. I’m consistently closing the most footage but I keep getting told I am not doing enough.

So an average ticket has 2 to 3 utilities and scope is about 2000 feet. Sprinkling in 1 or 2 500 footers. Acceptable amount of tickets to close? And what would be considered a better than acceptable?

Tldr;
Each of my tickets is between 500 to 3000 feet in score 1 to 4 utilities. What’s an acceptable amount of tickets to close in a day?
