Is this a dike, or some other type of intrusive body?

Saw this sea cliff on Madeira. I was told locals call it “Vulva Rock,” which is… understandable.

I’m genuinely curious about the geology and would love if anyone can weigh in with info about how this formed.

Madeiran Whale Bone Lure

I saw this at the whaling museum in Madeira. Hand carved lure made from whale bone! Thought you folks may appreciate seeing it.

Bass Teeth = Splinters in Fingers?

Anyone else constantly pulling bass teeth out of their fingers? Am I doing something wrong when I lip the fish that is causing me to end up with teeth splinters in my fingers?

The tooth in the photo is bigger than the majority of teeth that end up in my fingers, usually they are very fine and almost like fine cacti spines.

I don’t ever feel the teeth when I’m handling the fish, usually I only notice it days later when I feel like I have a splinter. If I run a knife blade obliquely across my finger, then numerous teeth start to rise out of my skin, it’s actually kind of satisfying in the same gross way that pulling splinters is satisfying.

Just curious if this is common with bass anglers, and if anyone has ever gotten a nasty infection from bass teeth?

This is a Daiwa Regal 3000 that I bought new a few months ago. This issue started happening a few weeks ago. Most of the time the drag works perfectly fine, but every once in a while the drag will slip as shown in the video.

Usually if I turn the drag down and pull some line it will start working again. Other times I have to completely unscrew the drag knob and then screw it all the way back on and it will work again.

I don’t think the braided line is slipping on the spool. What else could cause this? The first time it happened it was cold outside (~40F). But in this video it wasn’t very cold out yet it still happened. Having trouble finding any pattern to the issue.

Any advice/troubleshooting tips are appreciated! Alternatively, if it’s a defective reel, perhaps I’m better off asking Daiwa (or Cabelas) to repair or replace?
