45M. Vagus induced severe anxiety for 10 years.

Looking for any form of hope. I was a prescription benzo user for 15 years and unfortunately was a heavy weekend drinker for the same amount of time. During the last 10 years I've come to realize that I get severe anxiety due to pressure on my vagus nerve due to gas or potential hernia. Also irritation from reflux. The benzos used to keep the anxiety at Bay but I've had to stop that 2 years ago and thaf has created its own host of problems. I've had all the checks under the Sun and they cannot find any issues in my digestive tract although I am convinced I have a sliding hernia that presents itself during stress.

Basically I can be feeling completely normal and within minutes of physical stress, IE lifting weights. Or if I feel the gas shift and feel tightness and pressure in my chest, I start getting an uncontrollable crawling in my skin feeling and severe anxiety symptoms present immediately. They will disappear as quickly as they come when I feel the gas shift in my chest. When they are extremely bad I can usually feel reflux in my throat during the same time. I think my anxiety due to benzo withdrawal causes chest tightness which exacerbates the situation.

I've tried elimination diets. Advil, more sleep. Cold packs do seem to help but it's very temporary.

Seeing as this is going on for almost 10 years I'm wondering if I did permanent damage to my nerve from the excessive drinking during the weekends. I would drink a bottle of vodka every weekend almost.

Is there any hope of this healing or ever going away? My quality of life is complete ****.

How long can PAWS and BIND last? Losing my mind...

I'll try to keep it short. I was a 15-year prescription Xanax user. Mainly low dose. .25 mg daily. I was also a heavy drinker on the weekends for the last 10 years. Talking a bottle of vodka almost between Friday and Saturday night. I tapered off Xanax almost 3 years ago and was good for an entire year although I continued binge drinking on the weekends. I noticed I was developing vagal nerve problems, probably from the drinking. Pressure on my chest from gas or irritation from posture or exercise would irritate my nerve and send me into an instant anxiety induced panic. After developing a few panic attacks on the road, everything went downhill from there. Talked to a new Doctor who put me back on ativan to control the panic attacks. But that's when I believe the kindling started. I would take them than not take them and over the course of 2 months became completely agoraphobic with full blown panic disorder. That was 2.5 years ago. On April 2024 I completely quit drinking and benzos both at the same time cold turkey. Probably worse thing I could have done. I've been suffering with Paws symptoms and believe I may have bind. I have a lot of light sensitivity and vision issues. A lot of head pressure. Tingling in the frontal cortex area of my head often. And lingering general anxiety disorder and cleithrophobia. Bad intrusive thoughts.

My sleep has been poor for the last year. 6 hours of broken sleep a night. I was hoping that by this point in time I would be seeing progress. And in small measure I have gotten better and I thought that things were progressing. But the last 2 to 3 months I feel like I've almost gone back to square one. The anxiety is back daily. I'm still agoraphobic. The intrusive thoughts are just as bad as ever. And still deal with many of the physical symptoms. I know about Windows and waves. I must be in one heck of a wave right now. I guess I'm trying to figure out is this normal? How long have some of you gone through this before seeing real progress? I'm starting to wonder am I just permanently damaged. Losing hope. Tired. Exhausted from all of this. I have a family I can't even take care of. Basically feel worthless. Thanks for listening to me rant.

Yo link water detection sensors went offline overnight

I have been using yo link water detection system for years without issue. I currently have about 20 or so sensors. Sometime overnight five of the 20 sensors that were placed in random locations through the house all lost connection. I'm pulling my hair out trying to get them to reconnect. All of the other sensors are still working normally.

I have already done the following,

Rebooted my main router

The hub is connected to the router via ethernet cable

I have unplugged and plugged in the hub

I have done a factory reset by holding down the set button until the lights flash green on the hub

I have deleted one of the affected sensors and attempted to rebind. It will bind in the software but still will not connect saying it is offline.

I have factory reset the sensor

I have taken the batteries out of the sensor and put the batteries back in

The sensor will blink green when I press the set button but it will not communicate with the hub

I've even tried deleting the hub from the app and re-adding

At a loss here. Any ideas?

Rate my plan

Central Maryland here. Been in the same brick rambler house with a cmu walled finished basement for 40 years. No termites ever. Few weeks ago, saw subterranean swarmers coming out of the bottom of our back door. Probably 50-75 over 2-3 days. I know the number one recommendation is pest control services but it is just not in the cards right now. I used to be a licensed lawn pesticide/herbicide applicator in another lifetime so not 100% green to this.

First I treated all wooded stump and rotted forest wood area within 200 feet with granular imidacloprid. Raked back all mulch. Drilled and treated door frame, exterior window frame and all interior walls within 15 feet of the door with termidor foam can. Sealed holes. I have trenched around the house, 6", and also rodded and or drilled holes 36" deeper in the soil every 24-36" and at our backdoor concrete steps. I will be drenching with Taurus SC. Then plan on baiting with atbs stations with trelona as well as specricide bait stations I already had laying around.

Am I on the right track here?

Work Sharp Field Sharpener holder

Picked up a work sharp field sharpener holder I found on Etsy. Came in today and works pretty well. You can place it in all 4 side and it has rubber feet or screw holes to mount it permanently for a stable base . Then you can still quickly pop out the field sharpener when needed. Pretty neat gadget.

Any good upcoming sales?

If I remember correctly and that could be a stretch, a couple years ago there were some sales that were occurring in the months or so leading up to 4th of July. Should we expect that again this year? Any recommendations for a small buyer? Mainly looking to get small repeaters and mortar sets as well as some decent fountains. Was hoping to find some sales and meet a free shipping threshold. Budget would be in the 500 to $600 range. Also if it has any bearing on recommendation, my kids are age four and two. I'd rather get 10 smaller items for $100 than one larger item for $100 since it's more fun for them to watch more stuff go off. Thanks for any recommendations.
