Do Vancouverites like quietness of the city?

I’ve noticed that Vancouver is a really quiet city. There Lots of places in Vancouver where it’s really quiet and there are not much signs, at all of a bustling city.

Often you don’t see anyone walking on the streets especially around the rows and rows of houses. And you need to travel to specific areas to get a feel of city liveliness such as Granville street, or Commercial drive.

But once you go past these areas, it’s back to quiet again. I swear some places in Vancouver feel like a ghost town.

And then there are noise bylaws, which contributes a lot to the quietness. Most people try not to make any loud sounds. And if they have to, they must get a permit and can make reasonable loud sounds within a certain time frame. And then it’s back to quiet again.

So I want to know, do Vancouverites actually like the quietness of the city?

How are Vancouver restaurants managing to stay afloat as more people choose to eat at home?

Restaurant prices are too expensive nowadays. Even a slice of pizza costs around $4 The cost of running a restaurant is going up, along with the wages of workers going up.

Nowadays more people are opting to eat at home and choosing to eat out once or twice a week to save money.

With all of this going on, how do restaurants manage to stay afloat?

What's easy to do in Vancouver?

I hear a lot about Vancouver being a difficult place to do many things. For example,

  • Its hard to make friends in Vancouver.
  • It's hard to date in Vancouver
  • It's hard to get a job in Vancouver.
  • It's hard to find a decent place to live in Vancouver.
  • It's hard to keep afloat in Vancouver because of the taxes, bills and rising inflation.
  • It's hard to solve the homeless and drug problem in Vancouver.

Okay other than stuff that's hard to do... on the flip side is there anything that's relatively easy to do in Vancouver? If there is, I'd like to know.

Why does Candadian media promote a lot of culture wars instead of promoting civil harmony and good will among each other?

I see a lot of media promoting a lot of rhetoric about left vs right, this group vs that group, us vs them, this province vs that province, immigrants vs citizens.

How does this kind of rhetoric and discourse serve our national interest when it clearly divides us as a country. A nation divided cannot stand.

Isn’t it the job of Russian troll farms or some unfriendly rouge state to divide Canada? Why is our own media doing that job?

Why won’t our media promote more understanding, tolerance and compassion towards our fellow neighbours?

Where’s a place in the Lower Mainland that’s full of good vibes?

I’ll start. The waterfront - Canada place area. Ocean breeze, gorgeous view of the mountains and blue waters. Best of all, it’s free to walk around and it’s also a nice place for people watching
