AITO / maybe self-snark

The FB gods were on my side because I somehow managed to be the first person to comment “ME!!” on a destash post and got a canvas for $184 that retails for around $210–220.
Then, over the weekend, two other canvases I’d been waiting for came back in stock, so I bought both of those too (about $200 each). Suddenly I had almost $600 worth of canvases in one week, and realistically I don’t have time to stitch them all.
When the destash canvas arrived, I decided to relist it in the group for $210 including shipping, which basically just covered PayPal fees and shipping, and is below retail.
The original seller messaged me and said, “I was really surprised to see that you resold this canvas so quickly. I guess good for you for making such a profit.”
Am I the only one who thinks that’s kind of weird? Once you sell something, why do you care what the buyer does with it? And we’re talking about an $8 “profit.”

Self-finishing

While I do not enjoy it, stitching and finishing a project from start to finish myself is so satisfying

Help my poor memory!

I went to Fireside Stitchery (the best!) a few months ago and an extremely helpful woman recommended this DMC Floche for the white cake icing.. I can’t for the life of me remember what she called the stitch. Any ideas? She said it would be something that would look like icing and told me to use short strands. That’s all I remember; I was kitting A LOT that day lol

Escrow account in lieu of 401k

Location: Pennsylvania

I left my position at a small law firm. My employment offer letter is attached. TLDR: my employer was to put money aside into an escrow account until she created a 401k. I left and had to ask for that payout, and she cut me a check. I’m assuming she didn’t put money into an account and just cut me a check, but she put in the check memo: “unpaid wages” and took all taxes out of the amount. It was functioning as a 401k, but one was never opened… Should that have been taxed?

Finishing Inspo

Couldn’t find many Taylor Swift canvases with a friendship bracelet finish, so here’s some inspo so you can finish better than mine! lol

Never have I ever…

Put a finger down if you’ve ever had to sue your former employer for withheld wages/compensation 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’d out the firm/attorney if that same employment agreement didn’t have a 5 year non-disparagement clause.

I have this Gingham Stitchery passport insert (4.5x3”). It reminds me of my very first Lily Pulitzer print. I don’t want a passport insert. Any other ideas on how to finish this?
