Can you make a driving game with huge open world without taking too much space?

Hello everyone, first time posting I was designing my game to be about survival horror casual driving with first person view and I wanted it to be open world to make long distance drives to complement the driving mechanic (like forza) but I was worried about the game size

My game won't be relestic and will not make high poly models but I was planning to add many things like trees for forest, wind turbines, many abandoned buildings and factories, etc

I'm using unreal engine but I was concerning if it's the best option for this tipe of game

EDIT: To my stupidity, I forgot to mention that the world would manly be roads and opsticals. I will reuse many of the same assets and the points of interests won'tbe that many, I will not make witcher 3 like world

What's your personal opinion on the new dlc?

Please keep this spoilers free because I still didn't get the dlc because the negative reviews on it are absurd. I really don't like to rely on them when it comes to frostpunk specifically ( as the last atom getting some bad reviews although it's peak) I wanted to know what do you guys think about it? What's make it unique? And what make people mad about it?
