Unfortunately, the agenda does not seem to be available yet.
New Election Site Needed
Rensselaer County Board of Elections is looking for an early voting location as the Federal Street spot is no longer available.
Rensselaer Co. Lawbreakers
The Rensselaer County Executive and Sheriff have announced they will not end the county’s 287g agreement with ICE in defiance of NYS State law. What do we do when those elected to enforce the law decide to break it? And, once making this decision how easy will it be for them to do this in the future?
You know what we do, stand up , speak out!
Be aware only three speakers are allowed to speak out on any subject. So plan your words accordingly. We do want to fill the chamber so please come join us speaking or not.
This link will let us know if you plan on attending and/or speaking. https://mobilize.us/s/IHFjd8
Backpack Drive
Our friends at We Get Out The Resistance (WeGOTR) and Bethlehem Morning Voice Huddle (BMVH) are having a Backpack drive to collect school supplies. It has been a successful program for them. The beneficiaries are children served by the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI). There are two collection points one in Delmar and one in Albany. Troy Indivisible will also help out with physical collection. You can donate through the website www.wegotr.org/home. If you donate online from August 1-30 they will use the matching funds from Indivisible for the drive.
Primary for Comptroller
Early voting started Saturday for the NYS primaries. There are not many in our area, but one particularly important one. It is for the position of NYS Comptroller. There are three candidates in the mix. Tom DiNapoli the incumbent, Raj Goyle and Drew Warshaw. Mr DiNapoli made news recently when he skipped a debate sponsored by local CBS affiliate WRGB. I attached a link to a wikipedia page that discusses the position and the candidates. I urge you to look into each of these candidates and get to the polls to vote between now and primary day on June 23.

Nearby in congressional District 21 Anthony Constantino and Robert Smullen are facing off in a Republican primary.
In North Greenbush there is a Conservative primary for Superintendent of Highways with Michael E Martinez and James Paco McCarthy on the ballot.
