Sorrento 4 nights, end of August

Hello!

We are going with my wife at Sorrento on 28/August.

As its a trip without kids, we will keep it relaxed: Sorrento, walk around, then Amalfi/Positano, then possibly either Capri or Pompeii, then again Sorrento and last day on our way to airport some hours at Napoli.

My main question is whether there are long queues for the ferries from Sorento to Amalfi or Positano. Or its wiser to take the boat tours.

Any other recommendation is of course welcome!

Thanks

Pixel 11 Pro or Fold or Z Fold 11 Ultra or Wide

Hey all!

I am considering a replacement for my 8 Pro, and I have the below shortlist: Pixel 11 Pro or Fold or Z Fold 11 Ultra or Wide.

I didn't like the size of my 8 Pro, thus s26 ultra is not in my options.

I find myself taking a lot of videos and photos using x2 and x5. Based on this i think Z Fold would disagree 6 my photos/videos...

However, after having phones for nearly 3 decades, i feel that i want a new tech toy, that is why i am thinking of going to a fold. The ultimate for would be zfold wide, to feel something totally new, otherwise go to the other two folds.

But are folds durable for 3 years? Or get the 11 pro?

Any suggestions to help me decide from someone that has same thoughts?

Android to iPhone

Hi all,

Is it really impossible to transfer viber history from Android to iPhone, in 2026!?

I am an Android user, and purchased today an iPhone for my daughter. It took me sometime to setup, as i do not have an iphone and we were getting errors while setting up an account for a 13 year old. But when we tried to setup viber we were shocked.

I was thinking of getting the new iphone in September, but not being able to restore so many years of conversation os a big NO for me.

Are there any simple solutions out there?

Thanks

First cook for friends

So we had around 20 people and decided to do lamb in a pot (with some oil, rosemary and lemon), potatoes at the bottom and pork ribs on the side.

We all agreed that we should have open the pot and cook it for half an hour with no lid, for liquids to evaporate and meat to get brown!

Also for the ribs, we did 2-2.5-0.5. but i really wish i didn't do the last part, as they seemed perfect in foil, but in the last 30 minutes they got dry.

We keep learning!

First cook: pizzas, pork shank, ribs - help!

Hi everyone!

Did my first cook on a Large BGE yesterday with home made pizzas and today with a pork shank and pork ribs. The ribs were great, but the shank was not a success, tough and stiff inside, and the pizza was cooked quicker on top and not cooked at the bottom.

For the meats i held the temp at 110°C (230°F) from start to finish. Lit up the charcoal at 6:30 and had the conveggtor legs up and placed in the shank at 7. Then the ribs at 10.

Then at 1, pulled everything out.

So was 6 hours just too short for a pork shank at 110°C (230°F)?

I should aim for 7-8 hours? Or maybe wrap it mid way?

For the pizza i thought that i needed more charcoal and more time for the stove to heat up. I had it only for 20 minutes, and probably needs an hour?

EDIT: Just opened the charcoal space, and they went just 2-3 fingers down, only, after almost 7 hours. So it seems i was holding it back too much?

Thanks!

Gifted a MiniMax, should I upgrade to L?

Hey guys,

I was just gifted a MiniMax from friends, as i talked a lot about slow cooking and that i wanted to try it.

I cook a lot on a gas barbeque and on an open charcoal grill.

I usually cook for our family of 4 very frequently burgers, fillet steaks, pork chops, and sea bass. Pizzas we cook in the indoor ovens. Sometimes in summer i would cook also for 10-15 people.

The 33cm MiniMax grid is definitely too small and thus I went to the shop today to look at upgrades, and saw the XL which is super comfortable and then also the L, which is larger that the ninnimax.

Anyone with similar setup, that stopped using gas barbeque and started using an EGG? Should I spend cash and buy larger EGG, or it will be sitting there in the end?

For anyone cooking for 4, is the Large big enough or maybe the minimax is also enough? Or will I regret not biting the bullet on the XL?

Thanks!

Google Photos on iPhone

Hi all!

So am 44, and after almost 3 decades with phones, 2 decades with smartphones am considering to try for once the Apple system, and iphone 17 pro, from pixel 8 pro.

My main question is whether the Google photos edits and syncing is happening on iphone similar to Androids, for the people who used both. As i use the editing on my pixel pro quite a lot. Also, wife uses daily Google photos on her android, so ideally the sync should happen without problems...

I assume face tagging and memories creation happens automatically on Google servers, thus doesnt have to do something with having an iphone?

I am aware of many other differences, but for this one i couldn't find a clear answer online!

Thanks!
