2025 Stelvio Intensa — brake issue reported May 20, still unresolved August 14
I wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with something like this with Alfa Romeo/Stellantis, because I genuinely don’t know how a relatively simple warranty issue has turned into this.
I bought a 2025 Stelvio Intensa from Miller Motorcars in May. The car had 16 miles on it at delivery.
The Intensa is supposed to have gold Alfa Romeo script on the brake calipers. Mine was delivered with white script instead.
I reported the issue to the dealer on May 20.
Today is August 14.
It is still not fixed.
The dealership initially told me they would take care of it. Eventually I was directed to another Alfa Romeo dealer/service department because of the parts situation.
That turned into its own mess.
The original dealer provided the wrong part number to the other dealer. Once that was corrected, the other dealer apparently received two rear calipers in red, which obviously weren’t the correct parts either.
I’m now being told that the correct replacement part isn’t available in the U.S.
At this point, I’ve also been dealing with Stellantis Customer Care. I opened a case on June 2 because I wasn’t getting anywhere with the dealer.
And here’s the newest development:
Apparently Alfa “lost” my case.
I have the case number.
But I’m now being told that the case supposedly isn’t attached to my VIN.
So somehow I have a legitimate case number for a vehicle that apparently doesn’t exist in the system attached to that case. 🤦♂️
We’re now approaching three months since I first reported the issue.
And to be clear, I’m not talking about a mechanical failure or something that leaves the vehicle undriveable. The car is perfectly functional. It’s a cosmetic/warranty issue involving the brake caliper finish/script.
That’s actually what makes this so frustrating.
I love the Stelvio. It’s one of the best-driving SUVs I’ve ever owned, and I have absolutely no complaints about the vehicle itself.
But the after-sales experience surrounding this one issue has been wild.
I’m curious:
Has anyone else dealt with Stellantis/Alfa “losing” a customer care case, particularly one that has a case number but supposedly isn’t attached to the VIN?
And for anyone who has successfully gotten a warranty issue escalated with Alfa/Stellantis, who actually got it resolved for you?
Because at this point I’m less interested in the gold lettering than I am in figuring out how a case can simultaneously exist and apparently not exist. 😂
