Done with work in the food industry
I’ve been in and out of the food service industry since I was 18 years old. I’ve survived the 100-degree lines, erratic schedules, and toxic managers. Today was the absolute last straw, and I walked away.
Honestly, my body is just completely done. After three decades on the line, my joints are screaming, and my hands can't take the constant gripping, chopping, and heavy lifting anymore.
My boss tried to "quiet fire" me by slashing my hours down to two days this week, and only ONE day next week, giving all my shifts to the new guy. When I texted him today before my shift to call him out on it, he tried to trap me into saying "I'm not coming in" so he could claim job abandonment. He said they wanted to train the new guy. They could have talked to me about it but I think they just wanted me out. I stood my ground, told him I wanted to work but couldn't survive on one day a week, and he folded and told me the new guy would cover today instead.
I sent my official resignation immediately. I turn 50 this year and I am officially retired from food service and retail.

amazon.comAITA For being honest with my husband
My husband does freelance graphic design. He recently had someone contact him for a possible job and it didn’t go well. I guess she asked him like his background and other organization he worked for. He gave her his work history and then he asked if the organization was very particular about their layout of graphic design and things like pamphlets and stuff like that. She said yes that they were very particular and this woman had had been working for them for a very long time. It is for an organization that has to do with women. He then asked her if there was any room for creativity. She said no, and then I guess that was kind of the end of the conversation. He then asked me if I thought that him asking that question was the wrong thing to do. I said yes because I feel like organizations if they have a long history will have a certain template. That made him very upset and we kind of got into a bit of an argument about it. So was I in the wrong? Should I have said nothing or should I have just agreed with him? Was I the A hole?

Smells have changed
I do not know if this is a perimenopause/menopause thing, but I’ve noticed recently that certain smells that used to smell good or at least neutral, do not smell as good anymore or smell strange. The best example I can give is that a body wash that I have used for a while while suddenly smells like medicine. Also if people are wearing cologne and if food is getting fried, I can smell it for hours. It's like it gets in my nose and won’t go away.
Morgan Wallen refusing paying stagehands
I just thought I would share this piece of information to get support for all the people who worked on his show. I can’t say who, but somebody close to me worked on the show and many stage hands worked on his canceled show and now he’s refusing to pay them. Some people worked 10 ,15, 20 hours on set up and tear down and now he’s saying that he won’t pay any of them. I do know that there is a contract in place and he will probably get sued, but I do think this should be known to the public exactly what kind of piece of crap he is.

reddit.comStubborn Eggs
I am writing this right after it happened. I am still kind of shaking. I was making breakfast. I had roasted some tomatoes, so I know the pan was hot. I threw in some eggs I had mixed up to throw on some toast. I started mixing them around, expecting them to cook quickly as the pan was hot, like I said. Except they wouldn't cook. It was as if they were in slow motion. I stirred and stirred, but just stayed in their liquid form. Mind you I have good eggs on the stove probably thousands of times in my life. Finally, I turned the flame up HIGH, and they finally started cooking. It still took a very long time, in my opinion. And before you ask, yes, I ate them. Groceries are expensive, and I am not wasting food.
