Vaccines at tail end of cold

Hi there! My sons ped only gives vaccines at clinics throughout the fall (generally once a week or so). I often have work conflicts.

We are able and signed up to go today for flu and Covid. He’s at the tail end of a cold/infection (he had a fever Wednesday, and very low borderline fever Thursday afternoon, so almost 48 hrs fever free). Runny nose but tons of energy, eating fine. I was told he could go in for the shots.

I know waiting til he is super healthy is ideal for immune system but he’s in preschool. I tested him for flu and Covid to make sure he didn’t have an infection for the vaccine illnesses. But I’m worried he’ll get sick between the next opportunity and at this point in the year, won’t he always have some kind of cold??

Thoughts please :)

Sick frequency

For those of you that transitioned from daycare (esp small) to preschool, did you start from square one with illness or was it easier? My son starts preschool next week after being at an in-home (about 10-12 kids) daycare for 2 years.

It’ll be a mixed 3-4 yo classroom, so some second year preschoolers and some probably in group setting for the first time. No diapers. Thanks!

Nap potty training

I posted a while ago about potty training my son on an accelerated timeline due to a change in preschool/start date.
We’ve been at it full time for 10 days and he’s doing great-telling us or just heading to the potty, peeing on instruction before we leave the house, pooping on the big toilet, almost able to get undies all the way up (they’re a little snug, just ordered some looser ones). What I’m worried about is his nap time…half the time he pees in his bed. I took the diaper off because he won’t be allowed to wear one during naps but he does get one for overnight (total undies during the day)

Annnnyway…how did it work for you all in this situation? Did your kid adjust? Was staff more flexible with pee accidents that occurred during sleep? He’ll be 3 next week.

Quicker than expected timeline

Hi there! My son will be 3 in a couple of weeks, and we started potty training back in June. We had to press pause due to a month of travel with long drives, etc, knowing that we would still have 6 weeks to potty train before preschool.

We just got off the waitlist for a school that starts 2 weeks earlier! So 3 weeks from now, although it is so close that I could run there in just a minute to help if he has any messy accidents. We've been at it a week and it's going decently well - the past two days he's had no accidents, using the potty on command at the park etc (albeit, a lot of floor potty and not so much stand up toilet), using the floor potty unprompted for poops. Does anybody have any tips for making the process smoother at this point, and for underwear your kids can pull up easily? My kid does fine commando but seems resistant to pulling his underwear up and down. He's fine with wearing it once it's on, but resists taking the diaper off when he gets up in the morning....

Thanks!

Sideways duct from hood

Does anybody have a range hood that vents to the exterior (so going sideways above cabinets)? if you came up with a solution to conceal the duct and/or make it look better, please post!

TileBar style number

For those of you who have used them…where can I look up the product number?
I picked a sample from Tilebar, and bought the same tile at Home Depot (website used the same product photo, tile came in the same dimensions one of which was unusual shape). I don’t have time to order a sample to compare to my TileBar one but I want to double check.
This is Manchester Dew vs (ivy hill) Birmingham dew, in case anybody’s familiar!
