How did you meet friends in other cities??

I want to be able to travel and visit friends in other places, but all of my friends are local.

How did you meet other people who live or have moved to a different city? I would love to visit friends in different areas to explore cities with someone who is local and can show me around.

Wanting to move to a new city in your 20s to experience more…

Does anyone else have the desire to move to a different city to experience more, meet more people, and grow in their career and as a person?

I am torn between staying at home where my family and support system is and wanting to move away in my 20s. I am in my early 20s and don’t want to regret not experiencing more in this period of my life before I am too old.

Has anyone had this same feeling?? If so, what did you do about it?? Did you stay? Move? Did you move for a job or school? I wanna hear others experiences 😊

Learning bioinformatics without getting another degree (is it possible??)

I want to learn bioinformatics and although I know you likely need an advanced degree, I don’t have the means to go back to school. I don’t have a super strong biology background (did a minor in undergrad) but I know statistical programming from my masters degree. How can I learn??? Best resources?? Is it even worth it or possible?

Can I break into bioinformatics easily if I don’t have a super strong biology background but I have a Master of Science in epidemiology ?

I am becoming more interested in bioinformatics after learning epidemiology which involved coding, biostatistics, and core biological concepts. Where are the best resources to learn?? Anything I can put on a resume to show I would also be trained in bioinformatics?

Jobs for recent graduates

What are some job titles or positions that are fit for recent grads in the field of epi? I am currently in the job search, but I find that some roles I search want people with more experience like Clinical Research Associates, Data Analyst, anything with HEOR, or Programmer. What can I look for to make my search more productive?
