Both got like 3k views and I think it did good,

I think I need to post similar,
But I’m not getting enough ides for 10/10 content

I’m 20M. I met this girl through our college friend group and over time we became really close. We talked a lot, spent time together, went out to eat, and she became someone I genuinely cared about.
I even took her to out for my bday and I spend so much efforts in her bday as well
She had a guy friend who always gave me an ick, and I actually asked her about him a few times. She always reassured me that he was just a dumb friend and there was nothing between them.
Eventually I caught feelings. Like, **real feelings**. I started thinking about her constantly and eventually confessed.
She told me she didn’t have any romantic feelings for me and only saw me as a very close friend. I asked if she liked someone else, and she said yes.
Then I asked, *“Please tell me it’s not him.”*
It was him.
They had apparently been secretly dating and almost nobody knew.
I’m honestly devastated. I understand that she doesn’t owe me romantic feelings, but I feel hurt because I specifically asked about this guy before and trusted her reassurance.
She also says she never flirted with me, and maybe she didn’t. But I genuinely felt like there was a connection between us. I invested so much emotionally and now I don’t know if I completely misunderstood everything or if I was genuinely led on.
I said some harsh things after finding out because I was crying In chat and sending voice msg while I was hurt
Plus I had a fever of 102 and was sick, did lots of vomiting.
and she blocked me. I regret some of what I said, but I’m also incredibly hurt.

Am I just an idiot who misread a friendship, or is it understandable that I feel betrayed? And how do I handle seeing her again when we’re in the same college project circle?
