Something that is bothering me with Episode 16 (Decision)
So they found Misa’s DNA on all the tapes she sent as the “Second Kira.” Naturally, they took her into custody because there was a strong possibility that she was the Second Kira.
What I don’t understand is why they didn’t do the same with Light, who was, mind you, L’s primary suspect. Everything pointed directly to him being Kira, especially considering that Misa suddenly appeared in Light’s life right after the “Second Kira” claimed to have made contact with Kira.
That alone should have been reasonable evidence to suspect that he was, in fact, Kira. If they had simply detained him then and there, its game over. The killings would eventually have stopped completely (not momentarily) since Light didn't have the time to plan, and they likely would have had enough evidence to convict him.
I feel like the author keeps giving Light cheat codes just to survive being capture. Like for example;
- Ryuk lending him a hand from time to time despite him claiming that he don't want to help him. Even manage to bribe him for an apple. A thing that he can easily get on his own.
- The notebook somehow can control the persons action instead of just simply dying.
- The possibility of having the shinigami eyes,
- A second notebook
- Introduction of Misa who is a simpleton that is obsessed with Light,
- Rem being in love with Misa and later was used by Light
- Amnesia after letting go of the ownership of the notebook
- Being able to alter the notebook rules as so it can fool anyone about the fake rules
I may have forgotten some few but everytime another rule/hax is added for Light's convenience. He wrote L too smart so he keeps giving Light too much Leeway.
