Data gathering in the guise of job interviews asking the applicant to solve a real work scenario for free is real. And all along there’s no intention of really hiring.
Is there a law or mandate for companies to post jobs even if they’re not hiring (or at least externally)? Because a friend has been seeing a lot of job ads posted in 1 day (Linkedin) then no longer hiring the next day. Can’t seem to post attachments here.

Ever experience a company repost the same job listing for months and years?
Or ever experience sus interviews where the HR felt like a spy, interviewing you about specific details about your company (% revenues, staff, etc) just for data gathering on competition and industry? Companies should pay stat or research services for data gathering. Are they really gonna bet on an applicant who’ll do anything to get a job?
