SUPER general question but, what’s the one thing you’ve done or experienced here that’s been the highlight of your stay in Dubai?

I know this sub compares the best unis and debate over rankings, but what unis would you personally avoid at all costs?

Was it affordability? Staying home with family? Do you regret studying here?

Hey everyone, I’m seeing the next round of applicants start asking about their profiles and what they could do and it reminded me of myself from just a year ago.

I used to be an active member of this subreddit.

I was OBSESSED with everything NYUAD. Asking a billion questions in god knows how many subreddits and comment sections here. Sitting in every meeting information session I could. And i think it gave me this false sense of certainty that I’d get in or something, which is why it hit so hard when I didn’t get accepted.

I didn’t have a backup plan at the time (which in retrospect sounds extremely stupid) and it left me scrambling last second to get into a different uni.

What I’m trying to say is, please make the BEST effort you can in your application because unfortunately, the majority of us will not get in, but at least you know that you’d tried your best and life has plans for you at another uni. Certainly show interest and interact with this community, but please keep a healthy distance and don’t be too harsh on yourself if you don’t get in.

I don’t know if this post will help anyone or if it’s pointless, but regardless. I wish ALL of you applying the very best :)

What’s the deal with so many universities in the Middle East and especially here in the UAE being named American University of _____ ? They tend to be pretty good unis too.

For the UAE I think the current ones are AUS, AUD, AURAK and AUE. What do you guys think of them? (Apart from the obviously good ones like AUS n such)

Hey everyone! I’m a student at AURAK and I noticed that we don’t really have a proper subreddit (for the small community on Reddit that go here)

Post anything that you think the we would find interesting or helpful. I think there are a lot of people trying to find info about this uni especially from current students so I think this would be a great place to do it.

Hey everyone, I got a scholarship from AURAK and given that they also provide free transport it’s the most affordable option that I have at the moment for computer science (undergrad)

Does anyone here go there or know anything about the professors, student life, events and everything else?
It’s been hard to find ANY posts on Reddit about the uni and I don’t know anyone who goes there within my circle.
Any help would be appreciated!

I want to study AI, and after a lot of research and budgeting these are the unis I’ve shortlisted based on price primarily.
